A Father's Treasure
Contributed on Jun 16, 2026
Children are "A Father's Treasure" in four ways because: 1) The growth of a family is God’s work (Psalm 127:3) 2) The growth of a family is an Important Resource (Psalm 127:4), 3) The Growth of a family Impacts a City (Psalm 127:5), and 4) The Growth of a family Needs God.
Psalm 127:3-5. [3] Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. [4] Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. [5] Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the ...read more

Survivors Of The Wrath Of God
Contributed on Apr 30, 2026
John’s vision of these Survivors of the Wrath of God contains three features: 1) Wrath Restrained (Revelation 7:1), 2) Saints Sealed (Revelation 7:2–3), and 3) Israelites Identified (Revelation 7:4–8).
Revelation 7:1–8. After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, with the seal of the living God, and he ...read more

Burial: Death's Demise
Contributed on Apr 1, 2026
In Romans 6:1–5, Paul shows three results that should be evident in a believers life because of the death of Christ. We see: 1) The Antagonist (v.1), 2) The Answer (v.2), and 3) The Argument explaining and defending that Answer (vv.3–5).
Romans 6:1-5. [6:1] What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? [2] By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? [3] Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? [4] We were buried therefore with him ...read more

Security
Contributed on Jun 28, 2009
SECURITY Consider this story in relying upon God: The 3-year-old felt secure in his father’s arms as Dad stood in the middle of the pool. But Dad, for fun, began walking slowly toward the deep end, gently chanting, “Deeper and deeper and deeper,” as the water rose higher and higher on the child. ...read more

Your Grumbling Goes With You
Contributed on Jun 15, 2009
YOUR GRUMBLING GOES WITH YOU There was a boy named Grumble Tone who ran away to sea, "I’m sick of things on land," he said, "as sick as I can be; A life upon the bounding wave will suit a lad like me!" The seething ocean billows failed to stimulate his mirth, For he did not like the vessel, ...read more

The foolishness of trying to cover up our sin is well illustrated with the story of the drunk husband who snuck up the stairs quietly.
