¿Te acuerdas de la historia de Aron Ralston del año pasado? A Aron Ralston le encanta la vida silvestre, haciendo montañismo en los lugares más aislados. En mayo del 2003, hacia trekking solo cuando una piedra enorme se deslizó y lo atrapó por el brazo. Espero cinco días esperando que lo rescataran. Al último, enfrentando la muerte por deshidratación, tomó una decisión increíble. Tomó un cuchillito de bolsillo y amputó su propio brazo, librándose y permitiendo que volviera a la civilización.
¿Cómo llega uno a una decisión así? ¿Qué tan desesperado tiene que estar uno para amputar un miembro de su cuerpo? ¿Buscarías esa solución rápidamente o primero examinarías toda posibilidad? Solamente estando cara a cara con la muerte podría un hombre hacer semejante cosa. Así debe ser el divorcio. Es un acto de desesperación, de automutilación. Es la amputación de una parte de nuestro ser. Debemos buscar esa solución en situaciones extremas...
