[360]. A Message From A Poem – I Never Knew You – Depart From Me
Contributed by Ron Ferguson on Jun 5, 2026 (message contributor)
[360]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – I NEVER KNEW YOU – DEPART FROM ME
This poem is based on these verses – {{Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU. DEPART FROM ME, you who practise lawlessness’.”}}
It is the time of judgement and those there are in a sad situation without any hope. That is because I am looking at the great white throne, the judgement for the unsaved. Here are some relevant verses for that time –
{{Revelation 20:11-13 “I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them, and I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and THE DEAD WERE JUDGED FROM THE THINGS WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, according to their deeds . . . Revelation 20:15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”}}
The bible is very clear about all this. {{Hebrews 9:27-28 “Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and AFTER THIS COMES JUDGEMENT, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him”}}
Judgement comes to all, even Christians who will stand at the judgement seat of Christ for rewards, not salvation, because they have believed in the Son of God. Jesus died but not for His sins because He was the holy, spotless, sinless Son of God, but for the sins of the world.
The words of rejection, “Depart from Me” will be awful. People live in rejection of God today and one day will face God’s rejection. Some are overjoyed to say God does not exist, but reality will hit home one day. It is so sad.
The poem considers various CLASSES OF PEOPLE who will hear “Depart from Me. I never knew you,” and it covers lifestyle, religion, choices and more. Of course the gospel must be mentioned in the poem and the last two stanzas cover that –
[[Right now on earth that can happen.
Through grace, you can be born again.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Then ever with God you’ll remain.]]
============================================================
I NEVER KNEW YOU – DEPART FROM ME
Fearful it is – “Depart from Me.”
The blunt call - “I never knew you.”
Forlorn and dark will be that time
For all those standing in that queue.
==================
The words were strong and without hope,
“Depart from Me. I know you not.”
Struck by condemnation’s verdict,
And resigned to what is your lot.
==================
But what brought about the reasons
For those who were hearing their fate?
There were several that played their part.
Let’s try to see how they relate.
==================
The first of these is rejection;
Creator God was put aside.
Salvation offered was denied.
Interest in God was starved, and died.
==================
Really bad is hostility
From those who hate Father and Son.
Christians too, are hated by them.
A web of hatred they have spun.
==================
Deluded religions immense
Have enslaved billions of earth’s souls:
Hinduism, Islam and more –
The devil’s subjection enfolds.
==================
The pleasure seekers in their lives
Engage the flesh, but does God count?
No time for God in their routine,
With selfishness on their account.
==================
On the slate is self-righteousness –
All those who think they’re just fine:
Good works and helping other folk.
Is it enough to cross God’s line?
==================
The Rector, Elder and the Priest
Who termed their “calling” a career,
But knew not Christ as their Saviour -
Failed, even though some were sincere.
==================
The humanist and atheist
Those who deny God’s existence
Reality will be a shock
Before the Judge – no resistance.
==================
The saddest of all is the one –
A moral person, kind to all;
Who had no sense of being lost,
But never on Jesus did call.
==================
“Depart from Me,” is tragedy
That God’s holiness must uphold;
Banished from the presence of God;
Then to cross over hell’s threshold.
==================
God does not wish souls to perish.
A person’s mind will not be forced.
Come willingly to repentance,
And have your salvation endorsed.
==================
Right now on earth that can happen.
Through grace, you can be born again.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Then ever with God you’ll remain.
