[276]. A Message From A Poem – The King’s Highway

[276]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE KING’S HIGHWAY
This poem is a picture. It places all Christians on the highway to heaven, one I have called, “The King’s Highway.” We are familiar with Pilgrim’s Progress which was the journey Pilgrim took on his way to the Celestial City. In a pale similarity, this covers the same journey.
We are on a journey, one that takes us to God or to hell. That sounds severe but it is fact. The bible is very clear about destinations. There are only two of them. I have never expressed it this way before, but we are journeying towards three thrones. The saved towards the Judgement Seat of Christ, and the heavenly throne in Revelation 4 and 5; and the unsaved towards the great White Throne.
In the second stanza it is important to note the start of the journey. That is salvation, or as Jesus said, “to be born again,” as in this verse – {{John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.”}}. That can not be bypassed or you are journeying on another road that leads in the opposite direction.
STANZA 3 – The bible is essential.
STANZA 4 – The Holy Spirit enables.
STANZA 5 – Ministering angels are companions.
STANZA 6 - Guided by the Lord’s light.
STANZA 7 – We can fall and that harms our vibrant walk.
STANZA 8 - The Lord restores those who slip and fall on the highway.
STANZA 9 – Jesus’ death made this Highway possible.
Of course as every road has an end, so too does this one. It ends at heaven’s door but that won’t be so for all Christians. Jesus is returning, and in the Rapture will suddenly appear “on that highway” like He did on the Damascus Road with Paul, and take home all those on it, along with the new bodies for those who have previously walked that Highway.
{{1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 “for the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. THEN WE WHO ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT UP together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”}}
Yes, what comfort for all those who are walking The King’s Highway.
Going back to the sixth stanza, it talks about the light growing brighter as we near our goal. This should be the case, especially for older Christians who have not much time left if the Lord tarries, and the prospects of heaven should be stronger and stronger. {{Philippians 1:23 “I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better.”}}
Blessed journeying, everyone!

THE KING’S HIGHWAY
The King’s Highway that Christians travel along,
Is the way of redemption and praise;
The journey by faith, and continuous song;
In prayer, their thoughts and requests they raise.
=================
The transit they make begins with salvation,
Progressing to the end of the road,
And as they get closer, joyous elation,
For clearer they see, heaven’s abode.
=================
They will carry no burdens along that way,
But they cling to a heavenly book.
The precepts that are written, they will obey
More and more, as they open and look.
=================
Like a golden stream from a smelter of gold,
That highway pierces through the darkness,
And those thereon, through the Spirit are bold,
With a strength that overcomes weakness.
=================
They don’t walk alone but with companionship -
God’s angels walk with them to assist.
Now they have a heavenly citizenship,
In joy, in peace; in love they exist.
=================
For them, brighter and brighter the way appears;
Light from above extinguishes doubt.
The Lord Jesus Christ, through difficulties steers,
So in victory these people shout.
=================
There are warnings for those people to heed -
Off that Highway are set thorns and snares.
If they slip from the road to do some bad deed,
Then they will encounter cuts and tears.
=================
There is One however, who is always there;
Who travels closer than all others.
He puts out his hand to the one in the snare,
In restoration to his brothers.
=================
The King’s Highway on which Christians are found,
Is the Master’s Road, the Master laid.
In happy concourse, their joy and love abound.
This is the Road for which HIS blood paid!
