[268]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
This poem came about through a series I did in middle to late 2025 on The Great White Throne, and The Judgement seat of Christ. For each of those studies I wrote a matching poem. That study for the Great White Throne is here on SermonCentral - https://sermoncentral.com/sermon-series/the-great-white-throne-and-the-judgment-seat-of-christ-sermon-series-from-ron-ferguson-24580
There are 4 Parts to The Great White Throne. I tried to do it as thoroughly as I could.
Some people don’t study future events carefully enough and confuse the Great White Throne and the Judgement Seat of Christ, but they are in absolute contrast. The Great White Throne is for the unredeemed (unsaved) of all ages, and is where, just before the creation of the New Heavens and New Earth, the unsaved are judged according to their works. I won’t say more. It is in detail in the article above. There is no salvation at the Great White Throne.
In the following verses, take note of the persons mentioned and what form the judgement takes and how it is determined. Note the sad end of all those there gathered.
{{Revelation 20:11-15 “I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them, and I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. The sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds, and death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”}}
Why would God create a lake of fire? Well it was not primarily created for human beings – {{Matthew 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL and his angels.”}} Those who follow the devil will end where the devil ends.
This is not allegory, and it is lamentable that too many follow Augustine and write off all future prophecy as allegory. It is most certainly real. This is why repentance, and acceptance of God’s extended gift of salvation is so important NOW. The condemnation through wrath in the following verse will be the lake of fire (Gehenna).
{{John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”}}
=============================================================
THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
Hell, give up your dead!
O sea, surrender those who have died!
To the throne they’re led.
Heaven and earth flee; nowhere to hide.
===================
The throne, great and white,
Where sits the Judge in His awesome power.
Frightful is the sight,
For the lost have come to judgement’s hour.
===================
The books are opened
Which contain all life’s recorded deeds,
Beginning and end.
But each one there to the Judge accedes.
===================
One more book is there –
The Book of Life – the most important:
Righteous names declare –
But for sinners there had been no lodgement.
===================
The righteous Judge ruled.
All condemned – sent to the lake of fire.
God is never fooled.
What a man is – God knows his desire.
===================
Don’t be one of those
Who thinks, “I’ll be right for I’m not bad.”
AND do not suppose –
Because no one in that place is glad.
