Love Loves To Give
Contributed by Wade Martin Hughes, Sr on Dec 6, 2025 (message contributor)
My first love was my MOM. For Mother’s Day, I worked for a few dollars and we went to Western Auto. They had three little handkerchiefs and a little pearl necklace in a fancy box. I knew I loved my Mom and I wanted to give her a token of my love. The fancy little box was more than I had. I told the lady how much I loved my Mom. I really needed this. The Western Auto lady was kind to me. She marked down the price and she gave me money to pay the taxes. I LOVED MY MOM AND I SO DESIRED TO GIVE HER A TOKEN OF MY LOVE. I LEARNED LOVE LOVES TO GIVE
When I was in the 3rd grade I fell love with a girl on the school bus. She was a senior. She was one of the first students that got on the bus. She always saved me a seat next to her. She would be so kind to me. She would put her arm around me. She talked so nice. She made me feel like a king. In the morning and evening she saved me a seat. I loved her. One Saturday I worked and earned a dollar. At the local store restaurant I had my dollar turned into 20 nickels. There were two big bubble gum machines. One of the machines had bubble gum balls and rings in the glass bulb. I loved the girl and I wanted to give her a ring. I put a nickel in and turned the knob. All that came out was a gum ball. I started chewing the gum ball. Another nickel? Another gum ball. I started chewing it. Soon my mouth was so full of gum balls. I saw I was going to run out of nickesl or lock my jaw? I started praying. God you know I love this girl and she deserves a pretty ring. Finally a ring came out. I was so happy. My prize was a ring to give to my senior love. Monday morning I excitedly waited for the bus. I jump on and ran to the back of the bus and I slid my “LOVE RING” up over her knuckle. She was so happy. She wore it several days. Finally the ring made a blue circle on her finger. I understood something about love: LOVE LOVES TO GIVE.

Who wants God to love them and act towards them halfheartedly, as an after thought. No we want Gods full attention and commitment to our well being. Well God wants doesn't want to be an after thought in our lives either.
