[222]. A Message From A Poem - Praise Ye The Lord

[222]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - PRAISE YE THE LORD
This is a praise hymn though no current tune fits the rhythm flow of the lines, and it requires tweaking of the lines for the exact rhythm. I am not doing that right now. There are six stanzas, each one with a new theme set in the first lines.
Praise Him for His majesty sublime
Praise Him for His unmatched excellence
Praise Him for His power full displayed
Praise Him for His mighty works of strength
Praise Him for His great redemption gift
Praise Him for His goodness not excelled
It is not uncommon in this world to struggle even as Christians. We are not immune from the evils of the world for all creation is under the curse, but we have that hidden manna, the resources of our Lord and the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Does that mean we can always praise? Maybe it should mean that but in the expression of living we know we can’t do that all the time. A lesson is here from Elijah who could not praise when life overwhelmed him – {{1 Kings 19:3-4 and he was afraid and arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there, but he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree, and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “IT IS ENOUGH. NOW, O LORD, TAKE MY LIFE, for I am not better than my fathers.”}}
Like the prophet, we can be down and beaten, and praise seems so distant from us. I find in those circumstances that the stronger the focus is in the bible itself, then the more likely it is that our souls will rise up to the Lord and praise flows from that. That makes PRAISE the jubilant joy of joyous times, and the stronghold strength of struggling times.
{{Exodus 15:2 “The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will extol Him.”}}

PRAISE YE THE LORD
Praise Him for His majesty sublime -
Bright glory light that dwells around His throne.
Shining out in splendour through all time,
His beauty is supremely His alone.
===========================
Praise Him for His unmatched excellence,
From past eternity to ever more.
Wisdom clothes our God in radiance:-
No tongue can express or human hand draw!
===========================
Praise Him! His power fully displayed
That set the spoken universe in place.
Newness in the blind and dead remade,
Confirmed His power in each hopeless case.
===========================
Praise Him for His mighty works of strength;
Edenic rest that reigned in tranquil peace.
Sealed in His redeemed through history’s length,
His works of pow’r in them will never cease.
===========================
Praise Him for His great redemption gift
Where blood-bought sons are set at liberty.
Lamb of God, whose work has healed our rift,
We know Your blood removed the penalty.
===========================
Praise Him for His goodness not excelled,
Proceeding from a merciful, true grace.
Nothing from the Father’s love withheld,
But given as a Father, in embrace.
