[158]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – GATHERED AT THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
This poem was written in conjunction with a series of articles I was doing on the Great White Throne and the Judgement Seat of Christ found on SermonCentral.
We ought not be flippant about the judgements to come for both are very serious. Christians who have been selfish and not done much for Christ will be left empty-handed at the Judgement Seat. We need to be active in our love for the Lord.
However the Great White Throne is a very sad and eternal matter. Look how the account begins – {{Revelation 20:11 “I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, FROM WHOSE PRESENCE EARTH AND HEAVEN FLED AWAY, and no place was found for them”}}. All the ones who are unbelievers are there for the judgement and there is not any hope for any of them – {{Revelation 20:12 “and I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and THE DEAD WERE JUDGED FROM THE THINGS WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, ACCORDING TO THEIR DEEDS.”}}
It does not matter what status a person had in life here, because in that final judgement all are judged according to the deeds done. It is such a big subject and I won’t touch on it here. If you want to look into it further, here is the link - https://sermoncentral.com/sermon-series/the-great-white-throne-and-the-judgment-seat-of-christ-sermon-series-from-ron-ferguson-24580
{{Hebrews 9:27 ”Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgement”}} I would plead with any who are careless in their lives for the Lord if they are Christians. BUT I would especially plead with any who are not saved because the great white throne is a certainty for you. Repent and believe = turn from sin and trust the Lord Jesus Christ.

GATHERED AT THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
When they’re gathered at the great white throne,
When earth and heaven have fled away,
What a dreadful scene they’ll have to own,
Standing all exposed – lives on display.
==========================
The rich will be there with paupers too;
Sportsmen, executives – the queues swell;
Film stars, pleasure lovers, now in view;
The high and mighty; peasants as well.
==========================
For the judgement dreadful, all are there.
The face of Jesus who’s on the throne
Strikes those present with fear and despair.
Each one knows the fate that is his own.
==========================
Examination of deeds negates
Redemption’s pardon for those ones there.
What is metered out by God relates
To each sin’s punishment, and is fair.
==========================
The lake of fire is the final end
For all those who dismissed Christ as Lord,
And in that awful place, they will spend
The saddest honour of sin’s award.
