[149]. A Message From A Poem – It’s The Gospel Truth
Contributed by Ron Ferguson on Jul 31, 2025 (message contributor)
[149]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – IT’S THE GOSPEL TRUTH
In this poem I use the word “gospel” in a wider sense than the four Gospels. It examines a number of truths from the bible. I am talking about the good news of the gospel. Each of the 8 stanzas has some truth in it from the bible, introduced by “The gospel”.
Try to find those as you read the poem.
There is a special touch with the rhyme scheme. Lines 2 and 3 rhyme but a word in the fourth line also rhymes with the end of lines 2 and 3.
{{Romans 1:16 “for I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,”}}
{{2 Corinthians 4:3-5 “Even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God. We do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake”}}
====================================================================
IT’S THE GOSPEL TRUTH
God offers the gospel as a free gift.
Do not lose;
Do not refuse;
Do not confuse the gospel.
======================
The gospel of God’s good news is for all.
It is true,
First for the Jew,
Then for you so we believe.
======================
The gospel is the light of salvation.
It will save;
A gift God gave,
So you behave as God planned.
======================
The gospel has remarkable power.
It gives peace,
And gives release;
Will never cease its working.
======================
This gospel has a special fulfilment.
Through God’s grace,
We’ll see His face,
And we’ll embrace our dear Lord.
======================
The gospel is the only way to life.
Now believe
As you receive.
Do not conceive what is false.
======================
The gospel includes hope of the Rapture.
Our hope sure:
The open door
When we soar to heaven’s home.
======================
The gospel is about the cross of Christ.
Saved from hell,
So we can tell
Of where we’ll dwell thereafter.

Have you ever seen ‘Cops’, the television show? They run up to someone’s front door, and kick right through it. That is the same way we choose to proceed in life sometimes.
