[132]. POEM MESSAGE – “I AM INCLUDED” - SONG - SOLO WITH CHORUS
I just love this poem but it was originally meant as part of a Christian musical I wanted to write. I am sad I have not had the time to dedicate to this effort. I have the melody for this in my head but am not able to write parts in music. My wife has Australian and English letters in music as does our daughter and son-in-law who plays in a State symphony orchestra BUT I never had the technical training in musical notation.
The poem here is a song for solo and chorus with interaction between them. I won’t say more. Please try to capture the mood of the song. It is one coming to salvation.
{{1 Peter 1:8-9 “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now but believe in Him, you greatly REJOICE WITH JOY INEXPRESSIBLE AND FULL OF GLORY, obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”}}

THE SONG - SOLO WITH CHORUS “I AM INCLUDED”
(SOLO) (SPOKEN)
“Yes it is true. I have made that decision and my life has been changed. Being a Christian now puts me on the same side as you. My life has been handed over to the Lord Jesus and I testify to the reality of His mercy.
Yes, it is His mercy that has done this for me. God’s mercy has saved me.”
================================
(SOLO) (SUNG)
Every argument has gone,
All the fighting disappeared.
Now my soul rests peacefully,
For the pathway has been cleared.
Life is brightly set before me.
Death no longer now is feared . . . .
For I’m included . . .
I am included . . .
Oh, I’m included through the mercy of God.
I am included through the mercy of God . . . .
================================
(CHORUS) (SUNG)
God’s revealed to him His mercy
Freely flowing deep and wide.
God’s been gracious now unto him;
Tenderly brought him inside.
All the wasted years have vanished,
From here on in Christ abide.
Oh, our joy is overflowing
Like a loving growing tide . . . .
For he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included by the merciful God . . . .
================================
(SOLO) (SUNG)
Oh, my joy is now o’erflowing
Like a loving, growing tide . . .
For I’m included . . .
Yes, I’m included . . .
Oh, I’m included through the mercy of God.
I am included through the mercy of God . . . .
================================
(CHORUS) (SUNG)
God has given him - joy!
God has shown him - grace!
It is overflowing - joy!
It is written on his - face!
Now it’s wondrous to behold
How our Lord has made him bold.
For the message has been told,
And he’s now within the fold . . . .
For he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included by the merciful God . . . .
================================
Mercy free and everlasting
God provides in mercy’s casting.
Freedom now from condemnation
Lifts our hearts in elevation.
Come unto Me whoever will,
Take mercy’s cup and drink your fill . . .
And be included . . .
And be included . . .
Be included in the mercy of God . . . .
Be included in the mercy of God . . . . !
================================
(SOLO) (SUNG)
I was lost and ignorant,
Like a sheep long gone astray,
But my emptiness of life -
He has taken it away.
And I’ll love the Lord forever;
He has changed my life this day . . . .
I am included . . .
I am included . . .
Oh, I’m included through the mercy of God.
I am included through the mercy of God . . . .
================================
(CHORUS) (SUNG)
God has given him - joy!
God has shown him - grace!
It is overflowing - joy!
It is written on his - face!
God has cleansed him from his sin,
Made him clean and pure within
Heaven now, can enter in,
For salvation, Christ did win . . . .
For he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included by the merciful God . . . .
================================
Mercy free and everlasting
God provides in mercy’s casting.
Freedom now from condemnation
Lifts our hearts in elevation.
Come unto Me whoever will,
Take mercy’s cup and drink your fill . . .
And be included . . .
And be included . . .
Be included in the mercy of God . . . .
Be included in the mercy of God . . . .!
================================
(SOLO) (SUNG)
All the graciousness of God,
And His tender loving care,
All the pity He has shown,
And His beauty crowning fair:
It is mine from this day on,
Nothing to it can compare . . . .
For I’m included . . .
I am included . . .
Oh, I’m included through the mercy of God.
I am included through the mercy of God . . . .
================================
(CHORUS) (SUNG)
God has given him - joy!
God has shown him - grace!
It is overflowing - joy!
It is written on his - face!
He’s redeemed and reconciled
In the Body undefiled.
Once by sin had been beguiled,
God no longer is reviled . . . .
For he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included by the merciful God . . . .
================================
Mercy free and everlasting
God provides in mercy’s casting.
Freedom now from condemnation
Lifts our hearts in elevation.
Come unto Me whoever will,
Take mercy’s cup and drink your fill . . .
And be included . . .
And be included . . .
Be included in the mercy of God . . .
================================
(SOLO) (SUNG)
Yes, I’m joined now to Another,
And His name I am so sure,
In the trials of life before me,
Is the name that I’ll adore.
But when trials will all be ended,
I’ll be with Him evermore . . . .
For I’m included . . .
I am included . . .
Oh, I’m included through the mercy of God.
I am included through the mercy of God. . . .
================================
(CHORUS) (SUNG)
God’s revealed to him His mercy
Freely flowing deep and wide.
God’s been gracious now unto him;
Tenderly brought him inside.
All the wasted years have vanished,
From here on in Christ abide.
Oh, our joy is overflowing
Like a loving growing tide . . . .
For he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included . . .
Yes, he’s included by the merciful God . . . .
================================
(SOLO) (SUNG)
Oh, my joy is now o’erflowing
Like a loving, growing tide . . .
For I’m included . . .
Yes, I’m included . . .
Oh, I’m included through the mercy of God.
I am included through the mercy of God . . . .
================================
(BOTH - CHORUS & SOLO)
Oh, our joy is now o’erflowing . . . (SOLO) I am included. (Repeat)
Oh, our joy is now o’erflowing . . . (SOLO) I am included. (Repeat)
Oh, our joy is now o’erflowing . . . (SOLO) I am included. (Repeat)
Like a loving growing tide . . . . (SOLO) I am included. (Repeat)
Both to finish on the same note in crescendo.
