[122]. A Message From A Poem – He Is Coming He Is Coming

[122]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – HE IS COMING HE IS COMING
Here is a poem that meant a lot to me. It is a source of joy to know the Lord is coming again.
I am unashamedly a pre-Tribulationist and pre-Millennialist, BUT the poem is not featuring that. It is solely focussed on the Lord coming back again. I hope all Christians want the Lord to come back. It is the hope of the Church as Paul terms it here – {{Titus 2:12-14 “instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, LOOKING FOR THE BLESSED HOPE and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Christ Jesus who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.”}}
I believe all we write must magnify Christ, be it poems or narratives, in preaching or teaching, and in our living. I find great enablement in my poems. I could not do them with my abilities. The Lord gives me the words though sometimes it takes a lot of effort to get those words and thoughts down correctly. God leads us and helps us but never will He spoon feed us.
All of us must strive to meet the standard Jesus wants us to obtain. There is no place for a lazy professing Christian. This is a joyous poem.
{{John 14:3 “and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself that where I am, there you may be also”}}
===============================================================
HE IS COMING HE IS COMING
I am waiting in the shadows,
For the soon approaching dawn,
When the Lord Himself is coming,
On that wondrous, joyous morn.
===========================
The world rejects the saved of God,
And persecutes them sorely.
It hates the ones who love the Christ,
And treats them very poorly.
===========================
All the Church is on the lookout,
And listening for His voice.
The saints have great, expectant hope,
And in hope, they all rejoice.
===========================
Great rejoicing in His coming,
Will echo through the pages
Of the word of God He’s given,
Right down through all the ages.
===========================
Face to face might seem unsettling,
But the face we look towards,
Is the One we are expecting -
That lovely face is the Lord’s.
===========================
There will be a transformation
For the children of the Lord,
When in the twinkling of an eye,
We are called to our reward.
===========================
Let us praise Him in the highest -
Worthy, worthy is our King!
Unto Him our worship rises;
Let us to Him, praises bring.
===========================
He is coming! He is coming!
Very soon the curtain breaks.
He is coming! He is coming!
Lovely Lord, His Church He takes!
Amen and amen

S.D. Gordon tells of a spring storm that broke a large limb on his cherry tree. Although it hung by a very small strand, to his surprise the blossoms came anyway. Later some fruit began to grow as it did on the other branches. He noticed, however, that only those in full contact with the tree ...read more
