[111]. A Message From A Poem – Harvest Through Death

[111]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – HARVEST THROUGH DEATH
This poem lay for 27 years waiting to be finished and now it is. Its theme is the fruit of Christ’s sacrifice as the Grain of Wheat.
Jesus told to Andrew and Philip a truth I am sure the disciples did not understand. {{John 12:24-25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless A GRAIN OF WHEAT FALLS INTO THE EARTH AND DIES, it remains by itself alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal.”}}
For the farmer he knows if wheat grains remain as they are there is no harvest, but the Lord went beyond the agricultural fact and the application is actually to Himself. He is the Grain of Wheat that died to itself (Himself) and has produced a harvest of redeemed souls for God’s glory.
In the second last stanza I mention, “If you are unsaved, we do implore - You anchor to the Rock.” Jesus said, {{Matthew 16:18 “I also say to you that you are Peter, AND UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it.”}}. The Church is built on Christ, not on Peter or Peter’s confession. Only Christ has the stability and the strength to hold the whole church in place. It is HIS Church.
A harvest of souls for the Glory of God comes from the willingness of that Grain of Wheat to die. If anyone comes upon this poem and is not part of that harvest, then surrender your life to God in repentance taking the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
================================================
HARVEST THROUGH DEATH
As the grain of wheat falls in the ground,
So did the Lord in death.
Springing from that death a harvest found
Throughout its length and breadth.
===========================
Jesus has gained a harvest of souls -
His precious, redeemed ones.
His eternal love each one enfolds
To keep His ransomed sons.
===========================
I am united with Christ my Lord,
And washed from sin and shame.
With all in Christ, God sees me unflawed:
Jesus removed my blame.
===========================
Mighty army of God advances,
And homeward they all press.
Our expectations, God enhances,
And continues to bless.
===========================
Life is fulfilled; the future is sure
As part of God’s dear flock.
If you are unsaved, we do implore
You anchor to the Rock.
===========================
Grain of wheat the sacrifice for me.
For sin, the price He paid.
Harvest of souls for heaven to see;
The foundation He laid.
