[091]. Poem Message – For The Christian - Light Through The Tunnel
Contributed by Ron Ferguson on Apr 28, 2025 (message contributor)
[091]. A POEM MESSAGE – FOR THE CHRISTIAN THERE IS LIGHT THROUGH THE TUNNEL
There was a lovely little song written in that western style around the middle of last century called, “It’s always darkest before the dawn.” Sometimes in our lives, it is like being in a dark tunnel where we can not see the way ahead.
That is when faith comes to the fore and takes over. We walk by faith, not by sight. Even walking by sight can take us to wrong destinations, and that is why it must be a faith walk. That is when there is light through the tunnel.
The purpose of this poem is to think about the obscurity we can have in this world when we want clarity. Jesus gives us sufficient clarity for He never allows us to walk in darkness unless we ourselves have placed ourselves there. The Holy Spirit is given as our Guide and Comforter.
Each stanza in this poem embraces a separate thought and develops it.
The world is dark and getting darker but for the Christian, there is light ahead through the maze; there is light through the tunnel. The world calls good, evil; and the evil things it runs after and loves.
{{1 Corinthians 13:12 “NOW WE SEE IN A MIRROR DIMLY, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known.”}}
{{2 Corinthians 5:6-8 “Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord - FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT - we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”}}
{{Isaiah 5:20-21 “WOE TO THOSE WHO CALL EVIL GOOD, AND GOOD EVIL, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight!”}}

FOR THE CHRISTIAN THERE IS LIGHT THROUGH THE TUNNEL
The nations move in disarray;
Economic policies have gone astray;
Mankind wanders from day to day,
Seeking for a solution along the way.
=============================
They can not see the path ahead.
Deep washouts and rutted roads, along they’re led.
They have shunned the light, and instead,
Are held by deeper darkness through which they tread.
=============================
How tragic when darkness is light;
Man stumbles in night gloom, but thinks he has sight.
When evil is considered right,
Then the citizens are captive to the night.
=============================
The Christian needs help through the maze,
To seek the true path through the ungodly haze.
Now we see more difficult days,
As our Christianity is set ablaze.
=============================
Believers are part of the Bride,
And Jesus is always with us, by our side.
Morals, ethics, values have died,
But in all things Jesus remains as our Guide.
=============================
Do not fear what comes, little Flock.
This world, through sin, will feel the rumble and shock,
But you have Jesus as your Rock.
Take courage when wicked scheming comes to knock.
=============================
With the Lord, is our desire.
When He comes to assemble us up higher,
And we know what will transpire,
And part of that is our heavenly attire.
=============================
The first 2 stanzas were composed around 1970 and the remainder done 8 January 2022.

Contributed by John Gaston on Sep 25, 2019
We are to be the light of God to this dark world. How? We're to lead morally, to point the way to God, to warn them of the dangers ahead, to serve, give, and sacrifice -- to show them the love of God. We will change the world one small kindness at a time.
