[085]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – FOR ALL CHRISTIANS - THE THREE Ps
There are 9 poems in this Trilogy series. This poem is part of a Trilogy - three sets of three. The first set is addressed to MEN, the second to ALL CHRISTIANS and the third is SPECIFIC. This is the first one in the second set - FOR ALL CHRISTIANS.
ALL these poems follow the same format as they address the subject. ALL poems have 5 stanzas – Introduction; 3 stanzas for the subject; and the last stanza sums up. All poems feature three words based on a letter in the Alphabet.
Christians need their lives to reflect certain godly qualities and I have selected three for this poem all using the “P” word. They are PRAISE, PRAYER AND PATIENCE.
The New Testament would stress that some behaviours in our lives need to go, and others need cultivating. Three are in this poem.
PRAISE is a vital aspect that honours God and brings glory to Him. We praise the Lord, and if you want a useful exercise, get a copy of the Psalms and check out all the references to the word Praise and think on each one.
PRAYER is the vital link that connects us with the Lord. There is a two way communion; God speaks through His word and we speak to God through prayer.
PATIENCE is becoming more difficult I believe in this go-go-go world with its frustrations and problems. We really need God’s special touch here which is why patience is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
{{Psalm 47:5-7 “God has ascended with a shout, the LORD, with the sound of a trumpet. SING PRAISES TO GOD, SING PRAISES. Sing praises to our King, sing praises, for God is the King of all the earth. SING PRAISES with a skillful psalm.”}}
{{Psalm 57:7-9 “My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing, yes, I WILL SING PRAISES! Awake, my glory. Awake, harp and lyre, I will awaken the dawn! I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples. I WILL SING PRAISES TO YOU among the nations”}}
{{Romans 12:11-12 “not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, DEVOTED TO PRAYER,”}}
{{Galatians 5:22-23 “but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”}}

FOR ALL CHRISTIANS - THE THREE Ps
There are three Ps each Christian soul needs to appreciate,
And with these three, all Christian folk, their lives must saturate.
They represent maturity in those who do believe,
For those who’ve taken time and care, into their lives to weave.
=============================================
The first is PRAISE, that willing fruit, found on redemption’s tree,
Whose eloquence to God above ascends from you and me.
It speaks of thankfulness to God who did express such love;
And gratitude to Christ, the Son, who came down from above.
=============================================
The second - PRAYER - does suffer much from our neglectfulness,
Yet is the means, the vital link, whereby we can express
Our thoughts and love, our cares and griefs, and seek God’s lovely face.
It is the lifeline to God’s heart, the golden cord through grace.
=============================================
Now PATIENCE is the third of these, an attribute to seek.
Endurance in the Christian life is found among the meek.
The road to patience lies beyond your tribulation hurt;
Afflictions open onto it, your patience to alert.
=============================================
What challenge do these now provide to carelessness of life?
You can’t ignore such vital links in this world filled with strife.
A healthy witness for the Lord will almost guarantee
That prayer and praise and patience too, are there for all to see.

People refuse to believe that which they don’t want to believe, in spite of evidence. Upon their return to England, ...read more

Doors: Open Or Closed

The majority of the body of Christ believes that God opens doors (a "yes" answer to prayer) and closes doors (a "no" answer to prayer) in their lives. Does scripture support such a belief?

Be Still Series

People seem to be afraid of silence. They do anything to fill their lives with noise and avoid the emptiness. But God says "Be still and know that I am God." What can that mean to us and how can we go about doing it?
