[066]. A Message From A Poem – Easter Thoughts 2024
Contributed by Ron Ferguson on Mar 27, 2025 (message contributor)
This poem focuses on the Easter Story and covers the crucifixion and the resurrection. Of course the story is not complete without the Lord coming again and the last stanza features that. Each stanza deals with a different feature of the Saviour’s life that passion weekend.
God’s love could not bypass the satisfaction for sin. Salvation could not escape the penalty being satisfied – {{Romans 6:10 “for the death that He died once for all, He died to sin, but the life that He lives, He lives to God.”}} Now the door of heaven is open to all who believe - {{Acts 4:12 “and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.”}}
It was at the cross where Jesus became sin for the whole world and died for the sins of the world - {{John 3:16-17 “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life, for God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.”}} However those who do not believe go to the grave bearing their own sins, for the sacrifice of Christ is not efficacious if one does not believe.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people get converted in the Easter program this year wherever that might be (as I write this it will be 2025). If you are unsaved do not put off the day of salvation for no one knows what a day may bring and it may be too late. The jailer at Philippi asked a question Paul answered – {{Acts 16:30-31 and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household,”}}

EASTER THOUGHTS 2024
Crowned with thorns by mocking hands;
Pressed tightly down – spiteful hate;
Soldiers’ hearts chained by bands,
Comprehended not their fate.
===========================
Crowned, the One on Golgotha’s hill;
King of the Jews rejected.
Suffered on the cross until
Salvation was effected.
===========================
“It is finished,” this His cry:
Wrath expended on the Son.
Sinners, you may all draw nigh.
Freedom for you, Jesus won.
===========================
Taken from the cross with care;
In another’s tomb was placed;
Wrapped with costly clothes to wear;
The cold grave Jesus embraced.
===========================
Risen from the grave;
Everlasting life to give;
Resurrection power to save;
Eternity now to live.
===========================
Jesus comes in an instant
For His Church, in loving care.
All will rise in a moment;
All to heaven He will bear.

The Grace Of God
Contributed by Sam Mccormick on Aug 14, 2017
God's grace as the avenue of salvation is sometimes seen as being in conflict with obedience of the believer as a requirement, without which salvation cannot be obtained. Which is it, or is it a combination? Can this dichotomy be satisfactorily resolved?
