[038] A Message From A Poem – Can They Really Know?

[038] A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – CAN THEY REALLY KNOW?
This poem is derived from thinking about the songs of several decades ago, (50-70 years) especially in the American Southern Gospel Quartets. Needless to say I love those old singers especially The Cathedrals.
The poem is quite simple and is about testimony and appeal. It would be sung in parts as the quartets do.
There is not much more I would say except this one thing. If you hear this poem, or if you read it, or if someone actually puts it to music, AND you are not saved, then heaven is not your encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ when you leave this earth.
You will meet the Lord at the great white throne and that encounter will be awful. Be saved today while heaven’s door is still open.
{{Ephesians 2:4-7 “but God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and SEATED US WITH HIM IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS, in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”}}
{{Revelation 20:1-15 “I saw A GREAT WHITE THRONE and HIM WHO SAT UPON IT, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them, and I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. The sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds, and death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH, THE LAKE OF FIRE. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”}}
=======================================================
CAN THEY REALLY KNOW?
They talk of seeing Jesus,
They speak of gloryland.
They talk of meeting Jesus
Upon some golden strand.
=========================
But do they know for certain,
That what they say is true,
When they tell of Jesus’ love
Dispensed for me and you?
=========================
Do they know . . . Can they know? . . .
Can they really tell? . . .
Have they learnt . . . of God’s grace . . .
Saving them from hell? . . .
Can they know . . . Can they know? . . .
Can they really know? . . .
=========================
They dwell as loving people;
Their lives sure prove their claim.
They praise their Lord in singing,
To glorify His name.
=========================
They breathe the air of heaven.
They glimpse God’s rich reward.
Do good to one another,
Obeying Christ the Lord.
=========================
Yes they know! . . . Yes they know! . . .
They can really tell! . . .
They have learnt . . . of God’s grace . . .
Each one saved from hell . . .
Yes they know! . . . Yes they know! . . .
They can really tell! . . .
=========================
All you now uncommitted,
What is the choice you make?
Choose now the Saviour solely,
Or before the Judge you’ll quake.
=========================
Now choose the Christ who loves you,
And breathe the heav’nly air.
Do good to one another,
And love them well with care.
=========================
You will know . . . Yes you’ll know . . .
You can really tell . . .
You will learn . . . of God’s grace . . .
Saving you from hell . . .
You will know . . . Yes you’ll know . . .
You can really tell . . .

The Grace Of God
Contributed by Sam Mccormick on Aug 14, 2017
God's grace as the avenue of salvation is sometimes seen as being in conflict with obedience of the believer as a requirement, without which salvation cannot be obtained. Which is it, or is it a combination? Can this dichotomy be satisfactorily resolved?
