Titus | Good Works By God's People
Shared on: Oct 2, 2017
The Apostle Paul's letter to Titus is a wonderful gem among the New Testament Epistles. Through just three short chapters it emphasizes the important need for God's people to know what is true for them in Christ, and then to respond appropriately by living a life of faith-fueled obedience. Three times we are exhorted toward a life of "good works"; we are to be zealous for good works (2:14), ready for good works (3:1), and devoted to good works (3:8). But why? The answer resounds as the triumphant heartbeat of the whole book: Because "the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age." May this collection of resources empower you to proclaim the whole gospel to your community, both the redemption that has been accomplished and the growth in Christ that we are called to pursue by faith as we rely on the Holy Spirit to complete what God began.
