Who Do You Say He Is?

Summary: I share just a few thoughts of who Jesus is. Our text describes Him as King, Lord, and Prophet. He is that and more.
Our text,in verse ten asks the question, "Who Is this?" Verse eleven answers the questions this way, "This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. Matthew 16, Jesus asked the disciples "Who say ye that I am?" the disciples answered saying, "Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets. (Matt.16:15) "But whom do you say that I am?"
Peter answered and said "Thou Art the Christ"
(1) Who Is This? He Is Creator!
(A) (John 1:1-2) He is the architect of the universe, the one who fashioned the sun, and heated it to 35 million degrees, then told it to govern the day. He is the one who molded a shiny ball 2,160 miles in diameter, then gave it as a light to govern the night.
He is the one who made 100 billion stars in the milky way, with hundreds of billions more in more than a 100 million other galaxies of which we have never seen.
HE IS JESUS!
(B)(Psalms 8:3) Tells us divine fingers created a perfect work. God carved the river beds with His hands, decked the earth with flowers, studded the night skies with jewels made up of the sun, moon, and all the stars. He put the blue in the skies, the green in the grass, and the dew on the flowers.(Job 38:6-7) says while He was doing all this "The morning stars sang together and the angels shouted."
Who Is This? THIS IS JESUS!
(C) He brings the host of the stars out by number" He calleth them all by name, and by the greatness of His might, and for that He is strong in power and not one of them is lacking" "He maketh the clouds His chariot, "He walketh upon the wings of the wind."
Who Is He? HE IS JESUS!
(2) He Is Creator Of Man!
(A) (Gen. 1:21,27,& 28) everything created was pronounced as good. This earth with all it’s beauty is just a footstool for God
(B) Sin marred the beauty of God’s work
(C) God came to the Garden of Eden to see and to make a promise.
(3) He Is The Redeemer!
(A) As God came to the garden to make the promise to redeem, Jesus also came to where man was 2,000 years ago to redeem.
(Read Heb. 2:9)
(B) I am amazed at the power, purity, provision, pardon and promises of Jesus .
(C) I am amazed how Jesus could give His life for me even submitting to the cross, and to the will of the Father.
(4) He Is The Sacrificial Lamb
(1) Go with me now to the Garden of Gethsemane.
(a) In the garden the storms rage. the Son of God cries out, " Father, if it be Thy will, let this cup pass from me" ---- There Is No Answer!
(b) The storm becomes more violent. Again, He cries out, "Father, if it be Thy will, let this cup pass from me."---- Again, There Is No Answer!
(c) Hell cries out with joy as the Heavens grow black and the earth trembles. This sin cursed Earth could not bear to absorb the sinless blood of it’s creator.
(d) The ceremonial law goes down with a crashing thunder, The Aaronic priesthood is shattered as the Son of God goes down to show there is one who will do His Father’s will.
(e) All the fallen angels look upon and see
All of fallen humanity behold
The Callous heart of a Roman soldier declares,
"Surely this must be the Son of God!"
Who Is This? This Is Jesus
