Title: "Transformed by Truth: Unveiling the Power of God's Word"

Introduction: We embark on a transformative journey through God's Word in our new preaching series, "Transformed by Truth."

Today, our foundation rests on the profound words of Jesus found in John 17:17-19. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. 19 And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.

Let us delve into these verses, discovering the power of truth to reshape our lives.

The Sanctifying Power of Truth (John 17:17) "Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth."

Jesus, in His prayer, emphasises the sanctifying power of God's truth.

To sanctify means to set apart, purify, and make holy. God's Word, as truth, has the divine ability to transform our lives, shaping us into vessels set apart for His purpose.

Hebrews 4:12 reinforces the transformative nature of God's Word, "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."

In the same way, God, through His truth, sculpts and refines us, creating a masterpiece of transformed lives.

Let's draw inspiration from the words of Charles Spurgeon, who beautifully said, "The Word of God is like a lion. You don't have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself."

As we embrace the truth, let it roar in our lives, defending and transforming us.

Call to Action - Embrace Transformation:

As we launch into this series, open your hearts to the transformative power of God's Word. Allow the truth to penetrate every aspect of your life, trusting God to mould you into the image of Christ.

Sent into the World (John 17:18) "Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world."

Jesus draws a parallel between His mission and ours. We are sent into the world, not to be isolated, but to carry the transformative truth we have received.

Matthew 28:19-20, known as the Great Commission, aligns with this sending, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you."

Similarly, we are sent as beacons of God's truth, guiding others to the safety of His transformative love.

Let's reflect on the words of A.W. Tozer, who said, "While it looks like things are out of control, behind the scenes, there is a God who hasn't surrendered His authority."

As we step into the world, let's remember that we carry the authority of the transforming truth with us.

Call to Action - Share the Truth: In this sermon series, consider how you can actively share the truth of God's Word with those around you.

Be intentional in sharing the love and grace you have received, becoming a living testimony of transformation.

Set Apart for Holiness (John 17:19) "I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth."

Jesus sanctified Himself for our sake, setting an example of holy living.

Our transformation is not only for personal benefit but also to impact the world for God's glory.

1 Peter 1:15-16 echoes the call to holiness, "But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, 'You must be holy because I am holy.'"

As we embrace holiness, we collectively contribute to the beauty of God's Kingdom.

Let the words of D.L. Moody resonate in our hearts: "The Bible was not given for our information but for our transformation."

As we pursue holiness, let the transformational power of God's Word be evident in every area of our lives.

Call to Action - Pursue Holiness:

Let the call to holiness resonate in your heart.

In this series, commit to intentional living that reflects the transformative power of God's truth.

Pursue holiness in your thoughts, actions, and relationships.

Surrender to the Source (John 17:20-21)

"I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one — as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me."
