Summary: Verse upon verse teaching from the book of Proverbs. Wise sayings that will bring victory unto you.

Early childhood training should include, parental discipline and corporal punishment. All discipline should always be mixed with a lot of love and gentleness.

Proverbs 23:15-16NLT My child, if your heart is wise, my own heart will rejoice! 16 Everything in me will celebrate when you speak what is right.

The results of correction, is a child’s wise choices, and in return the parents will rejoice. Listen to verse 16 again, Everything in me will celebrate when you speak what is right.

Proverbs 23:17-18NLT Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord.18 You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.

Never gloat over a fallen enemy because that can become more dangerous than the sin of the enemy. Verse 18 say’s, you will be rewarded. ( How many like the Lord’s rewards?)

Wise saying number 15, Proverbs 23:19-21NLT My child, listen and be wise: Keep your heart on the right course. 20 Do not carouse with drunkards or feast with gluttons, 21 for they are on their way to poverty, and too much sleep clothes them in rags.

For the righteous, the way of wisdom is the only way. Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Listen to TM Bible Proverbs 4:23Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that's where life starts.

Proverbs 23:22-25NLT Listen to your father, who gave you life, and don’t despise your mother when she is old. 23 Get the truth and never sell it; also get wisdom, discipline, and good judgment. 24 The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. 25 So give your father and mother joy! May she who gave you birth be happy.

Listen to your parents. Get or obtain the truth at all cost. Listen to Jesus as He talks about a hidden treasure. Matthew 13:44-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Treasure Godliness, it’s worth everything.

Proverbs 23: 26-28NLT O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in following my ways. 27 A prostitute is a dangerous trap; a promiscuous woman is as dangerous as falling into a narrow well. 28 She hides and waits like a robber, eager to make more men unfaithful.

Falling into the clutches of an immoral woman should be as frightening as the prospects of falling into a deep pit or well, from which there is no escape.

Wise saying number 18, Proverbs 23:29-35NLT Who has anguish? Who has sorrow? Who is always fighting? Who is always complaining? Who has unnecessary bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? 30 It is the one who spends long hours in the taverns, trying out new drinks. 31 Don’t gaze at the wine, seeing how red it is, how it sparkles in the cup, how smoothly it goes down. 32 For in the end it bites like a poisonous snake;it stings like a viper. 33 You will see hallucinations, and you will say crazy things. 34 You will stagger like a sailor tossed at sea, clinging to a swaying mast. 35 And you will say, “They hit me, but I didn’t feel it. I didn’t even know it when they beat me up. When will I wake up so I can look for another drink?”

The drunkard’s lack of sense is so severe that his first waking thought is to repeat it all over again.
