Lk. 15:8-10
- Women had lost a sliver coin worth about a

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR US TODAY?
-------------------------------
- As the shepherd sought the sheep to save it
- So the women sought the coin to use it
- This coin had the image of the King on it
- It had no purcasing power because it was
gone
- Possible to ge lost in the church
- We can be a member even in christian service
- Lost in the dust of sin
- Darkness of unbelief
- We can be in the home of the Spirit for
salvation but not in the hand of the Spirit
for service
- Think for a moment of an invisable element
- Just because it is invisible it is not
uniportant or weak
- You can’t feel it, taste it, see it
- It’s all aroudn us
- 5 min without it we would be brain damaged
-It can snap trees
Lift a plane
Stop a trackter trailer
Break concrete using the right tools
Tighten lug nuts on your cars wheels
Lift massive amounts of weight
- We call it air
- OT calls it Ruach --- NT Pneuma
- We see it most often translated as Spirit
- Jn. 20:22 (v.20 Peace be unto you)
And when he had said this, he
breathed on [them], and saith unto
them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
- Like air we sometimes make the H.S. less
than He is
- Without the H.S. we cannot live as God
intended
- Without the H.S. we are powerless
1. The H.S. is not an it.
------------------------
- Jn. 14:14
If ye shall ask any thing in my
name, I will do [it].
14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he
shall give you another Comforter, that
he may abide with you for ever;
14:17
[Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the
world cannot receive, because it seeth
him not, neither knoweth him: but ye
know him; for he dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you.
14:18
I will not leave you comfortless:
I will come to you.
2. The H.S. is not passive, but active involved
----------------------------------------------
- Jn. 16:8
And when he is come, he will
reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment:
- Jn. 16:13-14
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not
speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, [that] shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to
come.
16:14
He shall glorify me: for he
shall receive of mine, and shall
shew [it] unto you.
3.The H.S. is not imaginary, but real, relevant
----------------------------------------------
- Act 1:6-8
1:6
When they therefore were come
together, they asked of him, saying,
Lord, wilt thou at this time restore
again the kingdom to Israel?
1:7
And he said unto them, It is not for
you to know the times or the seasons,
which the Father hath put in his own
power.
1:8
But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto
me both in Jerusalem, and in all
Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.
4. The H.S. is God
------------------
Act 5:1
But a certain man named Ananias, with
Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
5:2
And kept back [part] of the price, his
wife also being privy [to it], and
brought a certain part, and laid [it]
at the apostles’ feet.
5:3
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath
Satan filled thine heart to lie to the
Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of
the price of the land?
5:4
Whiles it remained, was it not thine
own? and after it was sold, was it not
in thine own power? why hast thou
