Summary: We are a people who have been guilty of looking for the anointing on the outside, but outward appearances can deceive. The Pharisees were great preachers, and keepers of the law, but they looked at Jesus and called Him “Beelzebub.”

The Kingdom Within! Text: Romans 14: 17-18

(What I’m speaking about this morning, the devil doesn’t want you to ever grasp because he understands that if you do, he will loss his grip on your life.)

17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. (Kingdom of God is mentioned in the Bible at least 111 times.)

Introduction: We are a people who have been guilty of looking for the anointing on the outside, but outward appearances can deceive. The Pharisees were great preachers, and keepers of the law, but they looked at Jesus and called Him “Beelzebub.” They missed the real because they were for something other than. Preachers and people we know can have a good shout, jump, fallen out, run, and even seemed very spiritual only to fall by the wayside. God through His Son Jesus prayed to His Father for Him to send another, “ the Holy Spirit!”

Just as a believer understands that their personal salvation is progressive; that same individual has to learn where and what the Kingdom of God is.

First of all, I’m not speaking about the Kingdom of heaven, but I’m talking about the Kingdom of God. (When you’re caught away, or when you expire you will experience the Kingdom of heaven!)

Secondly, let me tell you what the Kingdom of God isn’t. It isn’t found within a church building, nor is it found in some geographic location! It’s not found in one man or an offering!

But God’s Kingdom is found in you! You’re more than just flesh, blood, bones and organs, but you have become God’s house! I Cor. 4:17 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

Colossians 1: 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

I Cor. 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Everything Jesus taught and did, you can do! Maybe not as good as He did it, but as you acknowledge Him living in you daily, His works and His behavior will become part of you! (Many people aren’t acknowledging Him!)

I John 2: 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. (Think about this, you are now known as Son’s and daughters of God!)

Everything Jesus said while teaching His disciples couldn’t be received, or carried out until He left because it takes the Holy Spirit! Matthew 5: 1-7 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: 3 “ Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

I Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
