Introduction

How many times have you heard someone say, "She’d be a fool to take him back." or "You’re a bigger fool than I thought you were." or "Boy was I a fool to believe that."

Regardless of it’s use, it leaves a strong taste in all of our mouths and rightly so!

It’s not the worst but it’s up there by being one of the worst ways to verbally insult someone. That’s why we are warned not to call our brother "a fool" in scripture Matt. 5:22

Let’s take a look at the word: it’s mentioned 57 tx’s in the OT & 9 tx’s in the NT that’s 66 times and there are 66 books in the Bible so that’s one fool for every book!

However, each one has a different slant to it. e.g. "I played the fool" the word here means "to be silly or childish." in Job "You speaketh as a foolish woman.." the word here means "punishment.." i.e. someone who speak in this manner will not go unpunished!

Now, when we read, "The fool says in his heart there is no God.." that’s a different story all together. e.g. this word means "stupid; wicked" to say there is no God is the most "Stupid" or "Wicked" thing you could say.

How could anyone say such a thing, maybe it’s because they do not know the real God of the Bible and what the Bible says. Let’s look at several undeniable truths:

I. God Is Omnipresent (Jere 23:23-24)

II. God Is Omniscient (Psa 147:5)

III. God Is Omnipotent (Ge 17:1; Job 42:2; Matt 19:26)

Conclusion: Now who’s the bigger fool?
