THE ACHILLES TENDION? VULNERABLE

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers @aol.com (Watch YouTube: Wade Hughes) Two part.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

ACHILLES TENDION… There is a mythological account that a mother named THETIS desired her son ACHILLES TO BE STRONG AND INVINICIBLE. SO SHE DIPPED HER SON IN THE RIVER STYX. So mom held her son and dipped him in the water. The event made him so strong nothing could defeat him. There was a weak spot, as she held him in the water there was left a place for him to be hurt a weak area open to attack. Achilles was defeated when the enemy threw a dart that hit his WEAK SPOT IN HIS HEEL and he died. If ACHILLES had only prepared himself and protected HIS WEAKNESSES.

SUPERMAN WAS UNDEFEATABLE BUT DON’T FORGET KRYTONITE MADE HIM VULNERABLE.

KRYTONITE deprived superman of his super powers. This green stuff weakens and can kill Superman.

VULNERABLE: easily wounded, hurt, subject to physical, mental or spiritual hurt, open to attack. WE MUST KNOW OUR WEAKNESSES AND GUARD THEM.

THERE WAS VULNERABILITY IN THE FIRST FAMILY… THE ENEMY CAUGHT EVE OFF BY HERSELF… THEN SHE ENTERTAINED A DISCUSSION OF WORDS. WHY FLIRT WITH THE ENEMY?

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

VULNERABLE: WHY ARE YOU HIDING ADAM? FEAR AND WORRY ARE INTRODUCED TO HUMANITY.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him,Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said,Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

ADAM HAD NO SORROW, NO REMORSE AND NO REPENTANCE. THE FIRST “PASS THE BUCK” OCCURS IN HISTORY. MAN IS VULNERABLE SPIRITUALLY.

Genesis 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

ARE WE VUNLERABLE WHEN DOUBT THRIVES? THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE ME! WHAT IS IN YOUR HAND? MOSES SAYS A ROD… A ROD …

THE ROD TURNS INTO A SNAKE AND MOSES DOES WHAT WE WOULD DO… MOSES RUNS FROM THE SNAKE.

PICK UP THE SNAKE BY THE TAIL. ANY GOOD SNAKE HANDLER KNOWS YOU NEVER PICK UP A SNAKE BY THE TAIL.

A real person trained to pick up snakes knows for a fact that you must pick up a snake from the head area. This leaves Moses vulnerable.

Exodus 4:1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. 2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

CHANGE? WHERE DOES A ROD BECOME THE ROD OF GOD? VULNERABLE?

Exodus 4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
