Thanksgiving Vs Thanks-Living

THANKS-GIVING IS THE ART OF THANKS-LIVING....

I. INTRODUCTION:

I was talking with a young lady that was making daily some very poor choices.

She was raised in the church and had a sweet experience with Jesus. She had attended

youth camp and sang for the Lord. As a teen she started hanging with the wrong crowd.

She started using bad words, and skipping church, until she got to the point of only attending

church on special days. She started drinking and smoking. Then she never attended

church. Now, she is an adult and I saw her in town. She wanted to talk about the seven years

of the Tribulation.

SHE BOLDLY DECLARED SHE WOULD DIE FOR JESUS AND THE CROSS.

I SHARED WITH HER: IF YOU CAN NOT BE FAITHFUL & LIVE FOR JESUS WHAT

MAKES YOU THINK YOU WOULD DIE FOR HIM?

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus

concerning you.

Psalm 92:1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name,

O most High:

II. I DESERVE MORE --- I AM BETTER THAN THIS...

TODAY JUST LISTEN TO THE COMMERIALS AND TO OTHER PEOPLE:

THE CRY IS CLEAR: I DESERVE THIS --- THE GOVERNMENT AND MY FAMILY

OWES ME---

You ask the radio host Dave Ramsey, how are you? He answers: BETTER THAN I DESERVE.

Pride and a GIVE ME SPIRIT kills any hope of GIVING THANKS...

Will you agree that A THANKFUL HEART is a great virtue?

III. JESUS TAUGHT US MUCH ABOUT LIFE. JESUS WAS FULL OF THANKS.

JESUS NOT ONLY GAVE THANKS, JESUS LIVED THANKS...

The need was greater than the supply --- WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?

The need was immediate and there appear NO SOLUTION.

Matthew 15:36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake

them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

A little boy must have been taught THANKS by his Mother,

THANKS LOVES TO SHARE.

HERE PREACHER TAKE MY LUNCH TO JESUS, HE CAN HAVE IT.

LITTLE IS MUCH IF GOD IS IN IT.

IV. WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE PAIN OF FORE-KNOWLEDGE...

JESUS KNEW THE DARK ROAD IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS ---

IN THE MIDST OF GREAT PAIN JESUS WAS STILL THANKFUL...

JESUS WAS MORE THAN THANKSGIVING --- JESUS WAS THANKS-LIVING...

There was a man at the table that was a lying hypocrite, HIS KISS WHAT REVEAL HIS

TRUE HEART. Jesus still was GIVING THANKS...

Matthew 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

V. LIFE IS DYING WITH MURMURS, COMPLAING, NOT SATISFIED, FAULT-FINDING,

GRUMBLING ATTITUDES... THERE IS NO CURE?

WAIT, I HAVE HOPE ---THANKS IS AN ANTIDOTE...

Remember when the young student preacher contributed some

gourds to the stew? The fellow students were crying in pain... 2 KINGS 4...

THE OLD PREACHER HAD A PLAN--- THROW IN SOME MEAL... NOT ONLY DID THE STEW

TASTE GOOD, THE MEN THAT ALREADY ATE IT WERE HEAL? WOW WHAT AN ANTIDOTE?

THANKSGIVING AND THANKS-LIVING HELPS IMPROVE OUR ATTITUDES...

A VACINE

AN ANTITOXIN,

AN ANTISEPTIC

10 PEOPLE WERE DEATHLY SICK, THERE WERE NO HOPE OF A CURE.

9 ARE HEALED, ONE IS MADE WHOLE...

Luke 17:16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

LIFE IS FULL OF DEADLY POISONS ---

JAMES WARNS US THE TONGUE IS FULL OF DEADLY POISON...

When troubles, trials and pain seem to bury us, TRY THANKS-GIVING AND THANKS LIVING.

VI. PAUL'S JOURNEY WAS SO TWISTED... YET SAUL-PAUL LEARNED THAT THE BEST

APPROACH TO DAILY LIVING --- EVEN IN THE STORM IS THANKSGIVING SO DEEP

IT BECOMES THANKS-LIVING.

2 Corinthians 11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more

abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times

received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered

shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils

of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in

the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness,

in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
