SQUINTING EYES IN A DARK CELLAR!

WE DO NOT SEE THINGS AS THEY ARE --- WE SEE THINGS AS WE ARE!

Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com ( I do this in two parts, or you have to delete parts of it…)

I have a pair of binoculars. (Binoculars is to see with both eyes) to focus telescopically, magnify, to see in the distance.

MICROSCOPE: TO TAKE SMALL THINGS AND VIEW THEM MORE CLEARLY TO SEE MUCH LARGER.

I have a cumcumber, leek, onion, garlic… to represent CARNALITY. (The belly)

I love to listen to people pray. LORIE VANNUCCI USED THIS LINE ON A REGULAR BASIS. “LORD, I MAGNIFY YOU!”

I ALWAYS PONDER THAT IN MY HEART AND I OFTEN PRAY THAT. I never really understood, “LORD, I MAGNIFY YOU!”

HOW CAN YOU MAKE GOD ANY BIGGER THAN HE ALREADY IS?

I HAD A FRIEND NAMED FRANK GERMANCERI. I heard him use that line: “LORD, I MAGINFY YOU!” I heard him say: WHEN YOU MAGNIFY SOMETHING, YOU DO NOT CHANGE IT’S SIZE, YOU CHANGE HOW BIG YOU SEE IT.

Wow, that is it: WHEN I FOCUS ON THE AWESOMENESS OF GOD, IT IS MY LENS I AM LOOKING THROUGH. Do I see with my lens or the WORD OF GOD’S LENS? Awesomeness is our God!

We can view things CARNALLY or TEMPORAL?

Or we can see through the lens of ETERNITY? What is eternity?

My Dad always closed his prayers with this little phrase: LIVE WITH ETERNITIES VALUES IN VIEW FOR THERE IS TOO MUCH TO GAIN TO LOSE.

WHAT MATTERS TO THE CARNAL? FLESH? THE ETERNAL? THE SPIRIT?

Have we ever heard the INDIAN’S CREED: don’t judge me until you have walked a mile in my moccasins?

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Matthew 7:1 (MSG) "Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. 2 That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging.

PERSPECTIVE: the capacity to mentally view things in their true relationships, a mental view, how we see things from our point of view.

Numbers 11:5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

IF YOU LIVE SQUINTY EYED IN A DARK CELLAR…

We can view things with CARNAL or TEMPORAL eyes…

Or we can see through the lens of eternity.

My Dad always closed his prayers with this little phrase: LIVE WITH ETERNITIES VALUES IN VIEW FOR THERE IS TOO MUCH TO GAIN TO LOSE.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Matthew 6:22 (MSG) "Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. 23 If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dark cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!

WHAT DO WE REMEMBER? WE TEND TO LOOK THROUGH OUR LENS, OUR EXPERIENCES, OUR PERSPECTIVES? WE TEND TO BLAME THE 40 YEARS IN THE WILDERNESS ON HAPPENSTANCE? OTHER PEOPLE? FATE?

Just think how patient God was with all the complaining, belly aching, murmuring of STUBBORN and ANGRY PEOPLE. Many of the people longed to return to Egypt…

Numbers 11:5 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

IN ONE NIGHT GOD GOT HIS PEOPLE OUT OF EGYPT? HOW MANY YEARS DID IT TAKE TO GET EGYPT OUT OF THE PEOPLE?

God opened a rock in the desert to supply water for 2 million people?

God fed the people with MANNA that came down twice a day for 40 years? HOW MANY TONS OF FOOD DID THAT TAKE A DAY? DOUBLE ON THE SABBATH DAY?

PERSPECTIVE? MOSES: WHAT’S IN YOUR HAND?

The rod and the staff can bring discipline or comfort?

Exodus 4:2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Exodus 4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

DID THE ROD CHANGE? OR DID MOSES PERSPECTIVE CHANGE?

EVERY COMMON BUSH IS AFLAME, BUT ONLY HE WHO SEES IT
