Speaking through the Word

Numbers 7:89

89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him. {with him: that is, with God}

This morning the voice that Moses heard was the speaking voice of God almighty.

The voice that spoke to Moses from the flame of the mercy seat was the same voice that spoke to him at the burning bush, and from the glory of Revelation.

John heard the speaking voice of God in Revelation 1:12.

12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

The speaking voice that Moses heard was also the same voice of Mathew 11:29.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

When we learn about God then we also learn about Jesus, there is a connection between them that I can not really do it justice to try to explain.

John 1:1-3

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This is not saying that Christ had a beginning, because He is part of the Trinity, He is God so He had no beginning.

When it says in the beginning, it is referring to creation.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God”, this is speaking of a relationship with God and expresses the idea of the Trinity.

Verse 2 says, “The same was in the beginning with God”.

This very person was in eternity with God, there is only one God but He is manifested in three Persons.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit:

In verse 3 it says that all things were made by Him and without Him nothing was made that was made.

This Word that I am talking about this morning made it personal with you and me, you see He came down to my level.

John 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus became flesh and He dwelt among us, again you need to understand that He was the only begotten Son of the Father.

Begotten means that Jesus came from within God:

When I say that He is speaking through the Word that is exactly what He is doing.

God is speaking through His only begotten Son, who is the Word.

The Word of God is active in your life.

The Word of God is powerful in the situations that you face in this life.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2Co 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,

There is nothing that comes against you that will not be able to prevail if you are faithful to the Word that Jesus is speaking.

This Word that has been and is still being spoken today has stood the test of time and it has and always will prevail.

God is speaking this morning, and He is speaking through the Word of God.

Sometimes in order to hear what God is speaking, we have to be willing to pick up our sword ( BIBLE ) and read what it says.

Moses did hear the Word of the Lord as He spoke to him.

John heard the voice of God as He spoke to Him.

We live in a generation that needs to hear what the Lord God is speaking to us.

Don’t you think that it is time to give to God what is already His?

All He wants from us is for us to put Him # 1 in our lives.

He doesn’t just want us to be talkers, He wants us to be a doers of the Word of God.

We have to come to a place where we really surrender our whole lives all the way over to His will and way.
