Speaking through the Word
Numbers 7:89
89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him. {with him: that is, with God}
This morning the voice that Moses heard was the speaking voice of God almighty.
The voice that spoke to Moses from the flame of the mercy seat was the same voice that spoke to him at the burning bush, and from the glory of Revelation.
John heard the speaking voice of God in Revelation 1:12.
12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
The speaking voice that Moses heard was also the same voice of Mathew 11:29.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
When we learn about God then we also learn about Jesus, there is a connection between them that I can not really do it justice to try to explain.
John 1:1-3
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
This is not saying that Christ had a beginning, because He is part of the Trinity, He is God so He had no beginning.
When it says in the beginning, it is referring to creation.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God”, this is speaking of a relationship with God and expresses the idea of the Trinity.
Verse 2 says, “The same was in the beginning with God”.
This very person was in eternity with God, there is only one God but He is manifested in three Persons.
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit:
In verse 3 it says that all things were made by Him and without Him nothing was made that was made.
This Word that I am talking about this morning made it personal with you and me, you see He came down to my level.
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus became flesh and He dwelt among us, again you need to understand that He was the only begotten Son of the Father.
Begotten means that Jesus came from within God:
When I say that He is speaking through the Word that is exactly what He is doing.
God is speaking through His only begotten Son, who is the Word.
The Word of God is active in your life.
The Word of God is powerful in the situations that you face in this life.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2Co 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,
There is nothing that comes against you that will not be able to prevail if you are faithful to the Word that Jesus is speaking.
This Word that has been and is still being spoken today has stood the test of time and it has and always will prevail.
God is speaking this morning, and He is speaking through the Word of God.
Sometimes in order to hear what God is speaking, we have to be willing to pick up our sword ( BIBLE ) and read what it says.
Moses did hear the Word of the Lord as He spoke to him.
John heard the voice of God as He spoke to Him.
We live in a generation that needs to hear what the Lord God is speaking to us.
Don’t you think that it is time to give to God what is already His?
All He wants from us is for us to put Him # 1 in our lives.
He doesn’t just want us to be talkers, He wants us to be a doers of the Word of God.
We have to come to a place where we really surrender our whole lives all the way over to His will and way.
When I come to the place that I really understand that my life is not my own, that I was bought with a price, and now whenever I have a need, I am not my own so God will move because I am His.
Jesus purchased us by dying on the cross and us believing in Him.
Last week I preached, “Married to the King”.
Dream 6-9-08
I dreamed that Susan and I were in this room with Jesus, this room must have been in Heaven. All of our needs and wants were provided in this room. Jesus just knew, we never had to say a word. Susan looked at my finger where my wedding band used to be and I said, “Well, at least I still have the imprint there.” I knew that we were not married in the sense of the way that we were when we were on Earth. But yet we were together and we were a family. I walked up to Jesus. He was sitting at a desk. I never said a word and He didn’t either. He looked at me with love in His eyes. He opened the desk drawer and He gave me a wedding band. I knew that we were married to Him. He gave me the desire of my heart.
You see we are not married to this life, but we need to see beyond to eternity and see who we really are married to.
Are you married to this life or are you married to the King?
Are you seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness or are you seeking your own desires?
I have entitled this today, Speaking through the Word and here is the reason why.
Dream 6-17-08
I dreamed that we were at Minnie’s. Dad was there. I was saying that God was speaking. There was a Bible lying on the table. Dad had tears in his eyes and said that he has asked God to speak, and that He has never spoke to him. I looked at him and I said, “Dad that is how God speaks, through what the Word of God says. You need to read the Bible.”
Interpretation simple:
2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
All scripture is God-breathed!
God speaks through dreams and visions, and even audibly at times, because it is in the Word.
You need to read the Word and see what all it says, your answer to all the situations is in this God-breathed scripture.
A lot of times people will say that God has not spoken to them, but if they dig in the Word, they start to understand that maybe He has, and they have not paid attention to Him.
The Bible is a map to lead the Christian in the way to go, the Bible is also there to instruct us on right living, and how to get closer to God and maybe even how to hear His speaking voice.
Church, we are to be a light that knows how to get a hold of God.
We need to be a light that shines in darkness and not a light that starts to go dim around dark and evil things.
Church, you can’t be a beacon if your light does not shine!
If you are going through a hard time this morning, then you need to understand that there is healing in the Word.
There is healing when we put on the protective covering that God has given us.
Healing and deliverance comes from when we truly know that we are not our own, and that we are bought with a price and understand that I am not married to this world, but I am married to the King of Kings.
Have you received your ring this morning?
Do you know whom you believe in and do you know that God will take care of you?
Moses heard God at the burning bush and so many other times in his life.
John the Revelator heard the speaking voice of God, is it possible that I could to?
Read your BIBLE and see if it is possible and that if it could happen to you.
If you read the Bible, you will see that all things are possible when God gets involved, and you will see that God has never changed.
When someone tells you that they have never heard from God, and maybe they even tear up, ask them if they have ever read the Bible because the Word is active and alive, and that Jesus is the Word who became flesh.
He came down to my level when I could not get up to His.
The Disciples saw and heard Jesus speak after He died on the cross; the reason they saw and heard Him was that the Word who was in the beginning with God was still alive.
The Word (Jesus) can speak in any way that He chooses to.
When He speaks, what am I going to do with the message that He presents?
There have been many times that I have heard the speaking voice of God, I know that He can and that He will do so.
In 2001, He spoke to me and told me that people think that I have a lot of dreams, but my dreams were from God.
God is speaking; we just have to learn how to hear His Words.
Everything that we can possibly need is recorded in the Word of God, but when we are obedient to what He says to do then God will open up the windows of Heaven and pour us out a blessing.
God always blesses obedience, but He cannot and will not bless disobedience.
John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
2Co 10:5 pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ;
We, as a people, who want the blessing of God need to get on the ship of obedience.
My mind cannot get off the fact that I am married to the King.
When your whole life is given over to God, all of your needs will be met.
As a people, we need to get into the Word of God and study to show ourselves approved unto Him rightly dividing the Word of truth.
Closing
Speaking through the Word, dig into the Word!
You can’t be a beacon if your light doesn’t shine.
