Melchizedek.... Hebrew kids heard about him all the time. His story was familiar but what does this old priest tell us about the greater Priest; Jesus. He's got a lot to say.

The Bible is by far the most unique and amazing books on planet earth. I especially love the Old Testament stories. As a child I remember my mother reading me the Old Testament Bible Stories at night at bedtime. As a boy, I was mesmerized by the stories and still are to this day. My favorite ...read more

If Christ is not His last name, what is it? It is a descriptive title & it tells us WHO Jesus is. And for us to understand what that means is very important because it can make a lot of difference in our lives.

  • When Christians Try To Predict The Future Series

Contributed by Jim Butcher on Nov 7, 2024
     | 849 views

The ancient phrase "examine the liver" tells of a Babylonian way to try to predict the future. We can shake our head at that, but there's a way we do the same thing today.

“EXAMINE THE LIVER”: This was an ancient Babylonian process to try to discern the future. - Ezekiel 21:21. - I’m quite confident that I’ve never heard a sermon on this obscure phrase in this obscure corner of the Bible, but I think it’s interesting and sets up an important point about prophecy ...read more

Paul tells both the Philippians and the Colossians that we must walk worthily of Christ. But how do we do that? What does someone who is worthy of wearing Christ's name look like?

    I. In the 2022 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks took a cornerback in the fourth round who has an interesting name: Coby Bryant. I say his name is interesting because he was named after the professional basketball player, Kobe Bryant. After the draft, he was asked by a reporter whether there was any ...read more

Contributed by Glenn Pease on Mar 31, 2021
     | 2,898 views

Psychologists tell us that all of us have our in-groups, and out-groups. All of belong to certain categories, and there are others outside of those categories, and so all of us are in a position to be prejudiced against out-groups.

Arturo Tosconini became famous in the world of music because of the power of prejudice. He was a young cellist with a touring opera company from Italy. In June of 1886 they were in the greatest opera house in Rio de Janerio in Brazil. The house was packed with shouting people, but what they were ...read more

We are in the end tines. This is a popular refrain in Christian circles and has been for ages. While some calculate and predict, others tell of visions and dreams of the end tines. The question is: Are you ready to meet your saviour?

TEXT: Matthew 24:12-13 "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." THE END TIMES People have written so much about the end time, Christians and unbelievers alike have had dreams and visions about ...read more

  • The Spirituality Trap

Contributed by Alison Bucklin on Feb 24, 2023
     | 1,278 views

We have a tendency to see the shining mountaintop moments or the depths of despair as being the most spiritually significant. But genuine spirituality surfaces - and matures - in the daily decision to forgive, to tell the truth, to resist a temptation or to hold our tongues.

My mom tells me that when we were little she could dress my sister and me up for church in starched white petticoats and send us out to play in the yard until time to leave for church and be absolutely certain that we wouldn’t have a spot on us. We LOVED to dress up. There was no way we were going ...read more
