In 1861 there was in England a man by the name of Reginald Heber who composed a hymn that has always been a favorite of mine.  He used Isaiah 6:1-3 and Revelation 4:8-11, as the basis for this great hymn of the church.  The hymn is “Holy, holy, holy.”

There are rainbows everywhere, but the most amazing rainbow on record is the one the Apostle John saw in heaven. Here is the only permanent rainbow that exists. They fade so fast on earth, but this one is part of the furniture of heaven. It is part of the presence of God.

Something beautiful happened when the living creatures began to worship God. Heaven came alive (to life), and all of heaven joined in to worship God. All of heaven was in one chorus worshipping God. All of heaven joined in a song of praise and adoration to God.

How can anyone describe with our limited human vocabulary the glory and wonder of God's heaven? John's vision shows that God is in control of the events here on earth and will bring all of history to a conclusion on HIs terms.

Paul said he could do all things through Christ who would strengthen him. Nothing is impossible if Jesus wills it. He wanted John to come up an see heaven, and in a split second John was in heaven.
