Contributed by Otis Mcmillan on Mar 29, 2022
     | 4,191 views

The Public ministry Jesus began in perilous times. Distractions, disapointment, and weariness was the order of the day. When Jesus called, Peter responded and so must we.

Sermon – Responding To God's Call in Perilous Times Scripture Luke 5:1-11 “One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee,[a] great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. 2 He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and ...read more

  • The Road To Happiness, Joy And Peace

Contributed by Otis Mcmillan on Mar 31, 2022
     | 3,482 views

The multitude, like many today had gotten their priorities confused. So much time is spent worrying about "things" that we lose sight of what truly matters and leads to happiness. We seek gold while dismissing God. We seek health while neglecting holiness.

Sermon – The Road To Happiness Luke 6:20-26 “And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. 22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate ...read more

  • Thomas: My Favorite Apostle

Contributed by Donald Whitchard on Mar 31, 2022
     | 2,503 views

The apostle Thomas gets the short end of the stick when we read about him and his "doubts" in the Gospel of John. He is more like you and I than we want to admit, and his story affirms it.

When we read of where Jesus chose the Twelve men who would be known as the Apostles, we need to step back for a moment and realize that these men were ordinary working -class, salt-of-the-earth, rough around the edge individuals who had jobs ranging from catching fish to collecting taxes to a ...read more

  • What Is Spirituality? (1 Of 7)

Contributed by Dr. Odell Belger on Apr 1, 2022
     | 1,243 views

One of the best ways you can determine that a person is a SPIRITUAL PERSON is by the way they spend their TIME and MONEY.

We are fooling ourselves when we think we are SPIRITUAL yet our TIME and MONEY reveals we are like the carnal people of this world who only care about cars, boats, campers, houses and clothes. The way we spend our time tells a great deal about us. Because time is important to us, most of us ...read more

  • How To Overcome Temptation

Contributed by Dr. Odell Belger on Apr 2, 2022
     | 2,022 views

All sincere Christians have some things in common. One thing is that they all want to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

They also have to contend with the devil’s throwing every temptation he can throw at them every day to try to keep them from pleasing the Lord. It is a scriptural fact, as long as we live in these mortal bodies we will have to contend with this. WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM? Because, every Christian ...read more

  • Stages On The Journey

Contributed by Isaac Butterworth on Apr 2, 2022
     | 2,885 views

On the journey of faith, our spiritual vision is often clouded. As we continue on the journey, Jesus corrects our spiritual vision. We are to remain on the journey of faith, looking to Jesus for improved vision. Luke gives us three reasons.

I am looking at this passage as a portrayal of the Christian journey of faith. Like all journeys, the Christian pilgrimage through life has a point of departure, a destination, and a route through which we travel from one to the other. Verse 39 shows us a pilgrim who has just begun the journey. ...read more

  • Embracing Grace

Contributed by Isaac Butterworth on Apr 2, 2022
     | 3,198 views

The vast majority of people do not "accept" Christ (Luke 4:24) but refuse the "favor" (grace) He offers (v. 19). God has sent Christ to offer His grace. We must embrace the grace offered in Christ. Luke shows us how.

There’s a key word in this passage that I would like to point out. It is not obvious in the English, so it’s a bit tricky. But the word ‘favor’ in verse 19 and the word ‘acceptable’ in verse 24 render the same Greek word, which is dektos. In fact, in the King James Version it is translated ...read more

  • The Change Jesus Makes

Contributed by Isaac Butterworth on Apr 2, 2022
     | 2,062 views

Jesus is in the business of change.

Jesus is in the business of change. No one ever left an encounter with Jesus unchanged. They either loved Him more or loved Him less—and perhaps even hated Him—but they were never indifferent to Him. And the same is true for you and me. We cannot be indifferent to Him either. So, it is my prayer ...read more

  • Can You Be Righteous, And Look Down On People? (Luke 18:1-14) Series

Contributed by Garrett Tyson on Apr 3, 2022

Also, don't get discouraged, or stop praying. A look at two parables, with a trick to reading them better.

When it comes to the Bible, most of us have favorite parts. For some of you, it's maybe a book-- Psalms, or Matthew. For others, it's maybe a type of literature-- prophecy. We know the whole Bible is inspired. We know it's useful. We read it all. But some parts, we enjoy more than ...read more

  • Called To A Method, A Mission And A Ministry

Contributed by Otis Mcmillan on Apr 11, 2022
     | 2,266 views

Follow Me! If we would only do what Jesus said, our witness would be multiplied. The volume of our commitment would be amplified, and we would impact the world by taking the Gospel everywhere.

Sermon - Called to a Method, a Mission and a Ministry Luke 6:46-49 Nearing the end of the sermon on the mount, Jesus had had enough. For too long His crowds had been listening without acting. They engaged him with a respect that lacked response. They were ordinary men with ordinary interests and ...read more

Has the Pandemic caused something to wither in your kife, church or community? Your restoration begins right now. Will you be honest before God and hand over that withered area of your life? There is a remedy for witheredness.

SERMON: “There is a Remedy for Witheredness” LUKE 6:6-12 “On another Sabbath day, a man with a deformed right hand was in the synagogue while Jesus was teaching. 7 The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of ...read more

Contributed by Dr. Odell Belger on Apr 14, 2022
     | 1,055 views

At times, we all feel like we are misunderstood. And many times it is not a feeling, it is a reality.

For example, sometimes our dogs misunderstand some things about us. Someone suggested these are some of the misunderstandings our pet dogs have... • Getting up does NOT mean we are going for a walk • Just because I'm eating, doesn't mean you can But not only do we have misunderstandings ...read more

Many of us were afraid of the dark as children. Should we be afraid of the dark as adults too? Light is good. Light is knowledge. Light is the protection of our Lord.

Move to the light It’s normal to be apprehensive when we feel vulnerable and when we can’t see clearly it contributes to that vulnerability. In other words, being afraid of the dark and yes, when I was little, I was very afraid of the dark. It didn’t help that we lived in a creaky old house ...read more
