We can call ourselves Christians, go to church, give our tithes, etc. and yet have rejected God effectively. The picture Jeremiah gives of life in Judah comes close to life in the Christian West, with several gods competing for our loyalty.

Curiosity and greed are part of our DNA, patience is not. It is the fruit of the Holy Spirit and must be cherished and fed in order to grow in our lives. We must be patient with others and with God just as God is patient with us.

We've been taught since Sunday school that Jesus is with us and we carry Him in our heart. But Matthew 18:20 tells us that where two or three are gathered, Jesus will be among them. So what makes verse 20 different?
