Phoebe was a deaconess in a town about 8 miles from Corinth. She was likely a wealthy widow, and like Lydia was able to travel because of her independence and resources. Such women have been key people in the progress of the church all through history.

With social distancing, we've appreciated things like Face Time and Zoom. When businesses started opening up people appreciated them more than ever. But we shouldn't need separation in order to show appreciation.
