Donut Theology / Be Teleios

In Greek, the word translated "perfect" in Matthew is "teleios". " If something accomplishes what it is designed to do, it is said to be perfect that is "teleios" So "telios" is often translated as "mature". "Teleios" has the idea of "being complete."

Jesus proclaims In the Gospel Lesson today: "Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect." Be Perfect! What, then, do the parables teach? Church fathers such as Irenaeus and Augustine identified the treasure and the Pearl with Christ. The recent convert to Christianity says exactly the same thing: "I found Christ." Yes, it seems like we did find Christ.

O Lord It Is Hard To Be Humble

Being humble is difficult because as soon as you believe that you are becoming more humble, you in essence are not humble anymore! Reminds me of the old Mac Davis song O Lord it is hard to be humble when you are perfect in every way.

Will It Be Milk Or Meat?

Paul is clear to the Corinthians that there are two levels of Christian living. Some believers are living in the flesh, the carnal and others are living in the spiritual. This is still true today. Some believers are still on milk while others eat meat.

Four Steps To Forgiveness

When we find hate in our heart, it is simply a sign that we are going to need to forgive. Forgiveness doesn't make the other person right, it sets you free. For a believer , forgiveness is not simply the wisest choice, O Beloved, it is our only choice.
