Israel simply refused the reasonable worship of God. Instead they burdened Him with unreasonable sin. If Israel was to be delivered it would be because of God’s grace & not because of Israel’s response to God’s promises.

A living sacrifice is different from all other sacrifice. A regular sacrifice would require something to die. Paul is appealing to us to offer this sacrifice that would continue to be very much alive, but surrendered or dedicated to the service of God.
