2 Peter 1:3 says that God's power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him. Knowledge is key. Even though knowing is not enough, we must also be doers, we can't minimize the importance of knowing the Lord and his ways.

Shall Any Teach God Knowledge?

God knows all things, He is infinite in knowledge. Nothing can be added to His treasure of Knowledge and nothing can be taken from it. Man receives all his knowledge from God and must submit quietly to His will.
