The Ark had kept Noah, his family, and the animals on board safe for over a year as the flood waters receded around the world, forever changing the geography, atmosphere, relations with the animal kingdom, and the life span of Noah's sons and wives, all commissioned by God to repopulate the ...read more

One of the principles, given to Noah after the flood, was the principle of seedtime and harvest. Life begins by this principle. Harvest springs from the good or bad seeds we have sown.

SOW, GROW, PROSPER “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22. The first thing Noah did after the Flood, was to build an altar and make a sacrifice to the Lord. God was pleased with him and made promises to ...read more

Feeling desolate is nothing new for the people of God, but when we do, we may recall this song: The next time you find yourself in a storm, Genesis 8 can give you new hope and encouragement, because the major theme of the chapter is renewal and rest after tribulation.

Have you wondered about the mysterious ways of God? Others have too. This sermon talks about it.

An old hymn I love says, “God moves in a mysterious way his wonders to perform He plants his footsteps on the sea and rides upon the storm.” I thought about that hymn as I looked at our text for today in Genesis 21. There is a mystery about this text, which is not easy to explain. In our ...read more

These are thoughts on Genesis Chapter Eight. In his work, "What does every Bible chapter say..." John Hunt gives an overview of each chapter of the Bible. It is my intention to do the same thing here.

GENESIS CHAPTER EIGHT OVERVIEW Overall what is happening in this chapter is that the flood is over and the water slowly recedes – God makes a covenant with Noah. Thomas Coke (1801) - Genesis 8 The waters decrease: the ark rests on Mount Ararat. Noah sends forth a raven; and afterwards a dove; ...read more
