Jesus had to admonish her that the water from the well will never quench her thirst for ever. She would have drink this physical water many times a day to be satisfied. This is very similar to a person who is in an addiction. The habit is never satiated. There is a constant desire for more.

Fear, especially the fear of death, can turn us into slaves living in bondage. The devil uses fear to rob us of our freedom and abundant life. He uses fear to seize us, take hold of us, and suck the life right out of us! But the Son sets us free!
