For Good Friday: sometimes we no longer see things because we are too close to them. The disciples saw the cross "at a distance", but the centurion saw it through his callousness, cynicism, and skepticism, and affirmed, "Certainly".
Sometimes when you are too close to something you cannot
see it. Or at least you cannot recognize what it is. You can
be so close that you do not know what you are looking at.
