Summary: ~ If evolution really happened, then a tremendous amount of death occurred before man evolved. ~~ And if death preceded man, then death was not the result of Adam's sin, this would makes sin a fiction, and we would not need a Savior.

#10~Col.3: 18 WOMEN SPEAKING 1-26-14

~ Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, -- Rom.6:23 -- the wages of sin is death

~ If evolution really happened, then a tremendous amount of death occurred before man evolved. ~~ And if death preceded man, then death was not the result of Adam's sin, this would makes sin a fiction. ~~ And if sin is a fiction, then we have no need of a Savior. ~

~ Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, --

=========================================================

18Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

"submit yourselves" -- means to voluntarily -- yield, place herself under the authority of her husband.

-------++++++++++++++

Wifely submission can not mean forced; it must come from her free will.

"As it is fit in the Lord" means that the wife's submission to her husband is proper in her relationship with Christ: ("it is fit in the Lord") submission rendered to her husband is submission rendered to Christ. ~ She is to submit "as it is fit in the Lord."

---------

~ This is for the purpose of order in the home. -- This is not for the purpose of producing a browbeating husband. -- God didn't mean for a wife to submit to an unsaved husband who beats her, or orders her to do things contrary to her walk with the Lord.

~ There is nothing here, to do with inferiority, but a matter of authority and responsibility in the home. ---- The wife is a helpmeet (a help suitable to the husband), not a slave. The family is held together by authority and obedience.

--------------

~~ Adam was first formed. -- He was designed for headship by God.

ADAM was formed, --- EVE was made.

"Eve" was taken from Adam's side, at that time they were equal, this was before she was deceived.

-----------

@@@@ > Genesis 2: 20- 23 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and HE took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

~ Of all of God's creations, only woman could meet the innermost needs of the man, and only woman was designed to meet those needs.

We've all heard the old saying; it's Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve.

----------

~ As man is the crown of God's creation, so woman is the prized jewel in that crown. --- God made the ladies with an emotional need for attention.

>1st. Peter 3:6 -- giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

~ Husbands, this verse implies that if we don't honor our wife, our prayers may be hindered.

------

>1st. Timothy 2: 11-14 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. -- 13For Adam was first formed, then Eve. -- 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

-------

> Titus 2:4 That they [the women]may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

-----------

~ In Gen.3: just after Eve transgressed, God talks with Adam, then Eve, then the serpent, and then we read in verse;

> Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

* The later part of vs.16 is God's law.- and he shall rule over thee.

---------

~ The woman being deceived or beguiled by Satan indicates a fundamental tendency, which shows the woman should not be the leader in the home or the church. --- This let's out women preachers. -- She can teach women & children.

------

~The woman should give careful consideration to her husband's leadership in the teaching responsibilities, not because of inadequate faculties for reasoning and decision making, but as a means of avoiding confusion, and in complying with Gods Law, Gen.3:16 "thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."

@@@ >1st.cor. 11:3-5 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. [CHRIST] 5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: [Husband] for that is even all one as if she were shaven. --- The same as having her head shaved.

----------

~ The woman's covered head was the symbol of a woman's submission to her own husband. -- To fail to acknowledge publicly this headship was a disgrace & equal to having a shorn head. --

~ Christian women in the early church typically wore a head-covering in the church meetings, such as a shawl that covered her entire head and concealed her hair.

-------

~We're plainly told here in 1st.cor.11:5 that women played a prominent role in the development of the church in the first century.

~ It say's some women prophesied and prayed. --

------------

~I spent a lot of time trying to understand these verses, when laid along side of;

------

@@@ >1st. Cor.14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [Gen.3:16]

~ LISTEN-- The "silence" in this verse is a particular kind of silence, the silence where submission is required.

~LISTEN- The Holy Spirit permits speaking by women in public worship where there is no exercise of authority over men.

~ Certain Women could pray or prophesy because these are not authori-tative activities. --- And let's be sure to understand, that certain gifts to the early church would come to an end, evidently some of the women as well as some men had the gifts of prophesying at that time.

Some men had the gift of speaking in other languages; some men had the gift of interpreting the languages.

>1st. Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

~ This is not knowledge in general but the "gift" of knowledge by direct revelation. -- Tongues -- interpreting tongues. etc.

--------

>>1st. Cor.14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

~ the women are not to judge the prophetic utterances and speaking in tongues ** that Paul forbids women to do in church.

35And if they will learn any thing, [the women] let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. --

~ Paul said that the women were not allowed to disrupt the service by asking questions and talking while the service was going on.

----

Here we are able to see some of what the early Christians actually did when they assembled to worship God.

---------

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, [unknown too the listeners] let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

~ There's no such thing as a langue that's not known at all, some people some where understands it. -- To utter gibberishes is not speaking a language.

~ The worship services of the early church do not seem to have been dominated by one individual, rather there seems to be the open and free participation in the worship service by all who would choose to participate.

---

>28But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

~To speak in tongues without an interpreter is forbidden in the church.

* Paul spoke more than one langue:

> 1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

--------------

>29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

~ The men who would share a special truth revealed to them by God were to do so in order and no more than two or three, take turns.

------

>30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

~ The only exception to this would be in the event that a person felt strongly led while someone was speaking, to give his thought on what was just said, and in this situation let the first hold his peace. In other words, the new communication was entitled to be heard at once.

-------

> 31For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

~ Paul is not now saying that any number of people may prophesy, but that the two or three may prophesy one at a time. --- And in the case of possible interruption the two are not to prophesy simultaneously, but one at a time.

------

>32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

~ The one prophesying should be willing to stop and let someone else speak.

-------

33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

~ The service that is disorderly, confusing, and disruptive is not of God, for God is the author of peace.

--------

34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; [in tongues] but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. --Gen.3:16

~ Back in chapter 11:5 the women were permitted to prophesy and to pray in public. === But they were not allowed to interrupt the service by speaking in tongues. --- Finally we have the answer!

--------

35And if they [women] will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

~They were not allowed to disrupt the service by asking questions and talking while the service was going on, they were not to speak out in tongues either.

-------------------

* In Christ women are equal to men:

>Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
