Our God Is Quick! Series

Summary: The word "quick" in the Bible is used to describe God as appointing his Son as judging the "quick and dead" (Act's 10:42) but also in the last chapter of the Bible (Revelation 22) He asked to "Come Quickly."
Years ago, (1960's) we remember the TV commercial for Nestle's Quik, where the actor asks for a Chocolate mix, Nestles, with a glass of milk and 2 tablespoons and stir it. Then the person is starting to feel much better! And the dog watching with the loud mouth says "CHOCOLATE!" We all laughed. Then that was the start for a lot of other instant products that would make our world want a QUICK fix for everything.
Could it be that our God could be QUICK? We have watched Him in the history of man, He has done everything with quickness! When created the world in six days that is truly quickness! The evolutionists have a very hard time believing it could happen that quick!
Our next thought of fast God works comes from Isaac speaking to his son, Genesis 27:20 (Amplified Bible),
"And Isaac said to his son, 'How is it that you have found the game so quickly, my son?' And he said, Because the Lord your God caused it to come to me." God quickly provided for their needs.
As Christians, Paul said these words of His provision. Philippians 4:19 (Amplified Bible) "And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." To show that GOD provided and liberally supplied to us everything quickly.
As Christians we are reminded of His Coming again, our Lord Jesus, as read in 1 Thess 5:1-2 "5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
But we know also it will be quickly. Rev 22:7, "Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book." Rev 22:12, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Rev 22:20, "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen.
However, it is interesting how the King James Version uses the word "quick" in the New Testament. The NIV uses the word "living". The Bible says in Acts 10:42 that, "It is He which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead." When God is dispensing His judgement, He will treat a person the way he is, whether he be among the quick or the dead. Those alive in Christ will appear before the judgment seat of Christ."
CONCLUSION
The Bible says that everyone shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of what he has done in the flesh, whether good or evil. This is the day every man’s work shall be tested by fire. The Bible says that if any man’s work stands, he shall receive a reward, otherwise he shall be saved as someone who passes through fire. It is therefore important to pray that this day should not come upon us unawares. Amen.
