Open The Window Of Opportunity. God Is Enough.

OPEN THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY? GOD IS ENOUGH!

DEFINE:

*OPPORTUNITY: to make possible, favorable, a good chance, something you want to do.

*POTENTIAL: capacity to develop into something, able to develop, to achieve, have ability to succeed.

*ARROW: a symbol of life’s journey, alertness, protection, courage, point direction, judgment, deliverance, war, life. Shaft with sharp front and feathers to guide.

YOU DETERMINE HOW CLOSE YOU WALK WITH GOD. THERE IS MORE THAN RESISTING THE DEVIL… WE MUST SUBMIT OURSELVES TO GOD.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Many resist the devil until they are blue in the face. The secret to success is: MORE THAN RESISTING THE DEVIL. WE MUST SUBMIT OURSELVES TO GOD. WE NEED TO ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER TO ASK, SEEK AND KNOCK ON THE DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY OF THE THRONE ROOM OF GOD… LET US OPEN THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY.

Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

THE OLD PREACHER ELISHA IS ON HIS DEATH BED. WE HAVE A NEW YOUNG KING… JOASH… JOASH HAS A GREAT POTENTIAL. JOASH FACES A POWERFUL ENEMY, SYRIA. THE LESSON IS: GOD IS ENOUGH. GOD CAN!

2 Kings 13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.

HEY JOASH, TAKE THE BOW…PUT YOUR HANDS ON THE BOW. THE PREACHER PUT HIS HANDS ON THE BOW WITH THE YOUNG KINGS HAND… GOD IS WITH YOU!

2 Kings 13:15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.

16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.

Elisha the old preacher laid his hands on the kings hands. God is enough.

OPEN THE WINDOW? WILL WE STAND ON THE PROMISES? IF YOU WILL OPEN THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN… GOD WILL POUR OUT HIS BLESSINGS.

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

OPEN THE WINDOW EASTWARD… TO THE EAST IS SYRIA, THE ARCH ENEMY OF ISRAEL.

2 Kings 13 :17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD'S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.

THE ARROW SYMBOLIZED THE DELIVERANCE BY THE LORD’S PLAN. Syria was a cruel enemy and God’s plan was a simple plan. SHOOT THE ARROWS TOWARD SYRIA. God will deliver Israel.

GET READY FOR YOUR MIRACLE. OPEN THE WINDOW…THE YOUNG KING OPENED THE WINDOW JUST AS HE WAS ORDERED. THE OPEN WINDOW IS A SYMBOL OF A NEW ATTITUDE AND A NEW OPPORTUNITY … FRESH AIR!

Joash has a golden opportunity set before him. In whatever we do, do our best.

Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Joash was lukewarm. He was not interested in God or God’s man. Joash had no enthusiasm. He had no energy. Don’t be lazy or half hearted. Where is your zeal in trusting God?

TAKE THE ARROWS. THE ARROWS REPRESENT THE PROPHETIC DELIVERANCE. THE DELIVERANCE GOD WANTS TO DO WAS TO COMPLETELY DELIVER ISRAEL FROM THE OPPRESSION OF SYRIA.

The new young King Joash thought the OLD PREACHER was out of his head. Maybe Elisha has Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Besides that I AM THE NEW KING. Who can order me around?

2 Kings 13:18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.

Joash refused to act with determination to God’s Plan!

THREE TIMES KING JOASH HALF-HEARTED, LITTLE EFFORT AND NO ZEAL HIT THE ARROWS ON THE FLOOR. 3 TIMES.

The hitting the arrows on the ground represented DESTROYING SYRIA. Elisha grew very angry with the half-hearted effort of the lazy king. Why not 5 or 6?

2 Kings 13:19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
