Now What? (After The Presidential Election)
Contributed by Arlen Payne on Nov 16, 2024 (message contributor)
Summary: A new president has been elected into office. So what do we do now? How do we keep on living our lives? A message of encouragement and hope.
We That Have A New President
Now What?
Psalm 75:6-9
Intro.
A couple of weeks ago I preached about my
predictions for the election.
Everything I said has held up to be true
- God would still be on the throne.
- God would still hear and answer prayer
- God’s Word would still be true
- People would still need the Lord
The election is now over, and there was a clear winner
and a clear loser.
Lord willing, in January we’ll have a new President.
Donald J. Trump
SO NOW WHAT
I. Keep serving the Lord
1Cor. 15:58 ¶ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
A. We don’t just sit down and say well that’s that.
B. The election makes no difference in our service to the Lord.
C. We serve Him with all our hearts.
1Sam. 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things
he hath done for you.
1. Fear Him - honor Him.
2. Serve Him
3. In truth - not deceitfully or with hypocrisy.
4. Count your blessing.
D. Remain faithful to church
E. Remain faithful in reading His Word
II. Keep preaching the Gospel
A. The election of a President has not bearing on our work or ministry.
B. We keep on proclaiming the Good news.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
C. We keep supporting and standing behind our missionaries.
E. Preach it everywhere.
III. Keep watching for His coming
Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
A. He could come any day now.
B. We don’t know when he will return.
C. But He promised he would.
John 14:1-3 …ye believe in God, believe also in me...
IV. Keep our leaders in your prayers.
1Tim. 2:1-3
A. Pray for our current president and vice president.
B. Pray for those in congress
C. Pray for our Tribal leaders as well.
D. Pray for the incoming president.
E. Looks the reason…vs. 2
…”that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty”.
Conclusion.
With a new president, it may be a while before we see
anything change.
We may not see things change much at all.
In any case.
Keep serving
Keep preaching
Keep watching
Keep praying.
