Message From A Lost Soul
Contributed by Ted Brassard on Jul 24, 2009 (message contributor)
Summary: This is the only sermon ever preached from Hell
WHAT MAY SEEM TO BE GOOD OUTWARDLY, MAY BE UTTERLY CORRUPT IN THE SIGHT OF GOD (v.19, 22b, 23a)
"clothed in purple and fine linen” – color of royalty and cloth of the rich
Isaiah 64:6 "..we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags;"
“fared sumptuously every day” – that which should be “special” made “common”
Romans 8:8 "..they that are in the flesh cannot please God."
WHAT WE MAY CONSIDER HELPLESS AND WORTHLESS, MAY IN THE EYES Of GOD BE OF GREAT VALUE (v.20,21,22a)
1Corinthians 1:27-29 "God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are: that no flesh should glory in His presence."
Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
WEALTH, POSSESSIONS AND FAME WILL NOT BE REWARDED WITH EASE IN ETERNITY (v.24).
Mark 8:36,37 "..what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
THE PURSUIT OF TEMPORAL THINGS AND THE NEGLECT OF ETERNAL THINGS WILL HAUNT THOSE IN HELL (v.25).
Remember when that goody-two-shoes Christian tried to tell you about Heaven and Hell? Those in hell will remember that they rejected Christ! What horrible memories!!!
WHEN DEATH COMES SAINTS AND SINNERS ARE ETERNALLY SEPARATED (v.26).
THERE WILL BE NO PRAYERS ANSWERED FROM HELL (v.24,27,28).
THOSE WHO ARE LOST WHEN THEY DIE ARE ETERNALLY LOST (v.26,29-31).
THIS IS THE ONLY MESSAGE PREACHED FROM HELL
Luke 16:27-28 “Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.”
