Summary: Do we really know our spouse --- what about do we really know Our God?

Exodus 33: 13-14 & 17
Why should anyone want to Know God?
NO God … NO Peace (Isaiah 57:21)
Know God… know Peace (John 14:27)
Something is missing in life until we know HIM
Knowing God is the Heart’s Greatest Desire
Knowing God surpassed every other desire of Moses
What is the supreme desire of your heart?
I. We can know God through Faith in His Word (v. 13)
a. “If I have found grace in thy sight”
b. There is no hope for anyone apart from God’s Grace
i. Grace grants God’s Favor to undeserving sinners
ii. Only grace makes it possible for sinners to know God
c. This grace is made personal and practical through faith
i. Faith appropriates God’s grace by believing His Word
ii. Paul said this enabled him to know God personally (II TIMOTHY 1:12)
d. Moses had come to faith log ago (Hebrews 11:23-29)
e. Now he wanted to know God better
f. Do you know God? How well do you know Him?
II. We can Know God Through Focusing on His Way (v. 13)
a. “Shew me now thy way, that I may know thee”
b. We know God better by observing His works
i. We know Him by learning about His plan of creation and redemption
ii. We know Him by studying the work of God among His people
iii. We know Him by comparing OT prophecies and NT fulfillment
c. Studying the life of Jesus helps us know God better
i. We get a greater appreciation of His Love
ii. We get a better understanding of His Grace
d. Lingering at the Cross draws us closer to God
e. Focusing on Christ’s return makes us more like Him (I John 3:1-3)
III. We can know God through Full Surrender to Him (v. 14)
a. “My presence shall go with thee”
b. Moses had been called to a difficult task
i. He had undergone many trials
ii. God have been with him all the way
c. God’s faithfulness in trails moved Moses to want to know Him better
d. He was willing to keep following wherever God’s Will led him

Do You Long to Know Him Better?
Trust Christ as your Savior and Know Him personally
Study His Word and His way... & surrender fully to Him
