Luke 11:9-10

9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Keep us, Oh Father GOD, to be patient that we will keep on asking, searching and knocking for You will answer our prayers.

V. THESIS:

Keep on asking, searching and knocking for you will receive it.

VII. EXPLICATION:

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Three-fold Promises of Prayer:

1. Keep on asking (John 14:14)

Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!

a. Receives = you will be given what you ask for.

b. An idea of calling (Psalms 91:15, Isaiah 58:9, Isaiah 65:24, Zechariah 13:9)

Psalms 91:15

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

Isaiah 58:9

Then when you call, the Lord will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply. “Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!

Isaiah 65:24

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

Zechariah 13:9

will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”

c. Ask according to His will (1 John 5:14)

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.

2. Keep on looking (Deuteronomy 4:29)

But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.

3. Keep on knocking (Luke 11:9)

b. GOD opens the doors of faith (Acts 14:27)

Upon arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported everything God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles, too.

c. GOD is the door opener and He also knocks (Revelation 3:20, 2 Corinthians 2:12)

When I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me.

d. GOD will open great doors for effective work but many will oppose. (1 Corinthians 16:9)

GOD answers prayers so don't stop praying, keep on.
