Just Do It!

Mark 16:15 NKJ

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 MSG

1-3. I don’t think, friends, that I need to deal with the question of when all this is going to happen. You know as well as I that the day of the Master’s coming can’t be posted on our calendars. He won’t call ahead and make an appointment any more than a burglar would. About the time everybody’s walking around complacently, congratulating each other—“We’ve sure got it made! Now we can take it easy!”—suddenly everything will fall apart. It’s going to come as suddenly and inescapably as birth pangs to a pregnant woman.

4-8. But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.

9-11. God didn’t set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we’re awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we’re alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.

So speak encouraging words to one another, Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.

Are we doing this? And if were not, why not?

I was thinking, there have been a lot of people that I, or for that matter, all of us have known throughout the years,

that once were faithfully serving Christ and in the church, telling others about the gospel message, making a difference for the Kingdom of God,

That haven't attended a service, or been to church in years.

So many, who were once alive and vibrant for The Lord, now as TBS. just sleepwalking through life, in a unconscious state of mind, occupied with everything else, but what they were called to do!

TBS. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance

A lot of people would like to believe that, that would only include pastors or evangelist, but the fact is that we have all been called, or chosen to do the Lords work and it happened, the moment we said I Believe!

1 Peter 2:9-12 MSG

9-10 But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

11-12 Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is one of the most repeated teachings in all of Scripture

Paul was well aware of this and he explained his readers should also be aware that Jesus was coming again.

As a matter of fact, he told them that he shouldn’t even have to tell them again. It should be obvious.

Illus. It is kind of like the story of a tourist driving through West Texas who stopped at a gas station and observed a piece of rope dangling from a sign labeled "Weather Forecaster."

"How can you possibly tell the weather with a piece of rope?" the tourist wanted to know.

"It’s simple, sonny,"

"When the rope swings back and forth, it’s windy,

when it gets wet, it’s raining,

when it’s frozen stiff, it’s snowing and cold,

and when it’s gone... tornado!"

There are simply some things that should be obvious without even asking. The imminent return of Jesus Christ is one of those things.

With such a joyous event on the horizon, one that no one in their right or wrong mind, would want to miss,

How's come, there's been such a falling away from the calling and the church, even just the mere mention of His name?
