I've Heard The Joyful Sound - Jesus Saves!

Psalms 89:15 – 17, “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance. In thy name do they rejoice all the day; And in thy righteousness are they exalted. For thou art the glory of their strength; And in thy favor our horn shall be exalted”

The Message Bible say's, "Blessed are the people who know the passwords of praise,who shout on parade in the bright presence of God.Delighted, they dance all day long; they know who you are, what you do—they can't keep it quiet!

Everywhere we go our minds are being invaded by sounds. ( Elaborate ) Considering the multitude of sounds that we hear every day. This morning I want to look at another sound. The joyful sound of the saints!

If you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, If you have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb, If you know the Lord in the pardon of your sin, well then you know that you have put on the Righteousness of Christ and have been changed through the New Birth or have been Born Again by the Spirit of God through the act of Regeneration–then you my brothers and sisters are the most blessed people on the face of the earth.

You are blessed because you know the “Joyful Sound.” You ask what is the Joyful sound? Somebody shout Jesus!( Do this 3x's)

This Joyful sound that David here is talking about in Psalms 89 verse 15 points to the one in whom we sing about in our praise and worship to God! Just what is that “Joyful Sound”? I just told you...... JESUS!

As David looks back in retrospect in verses 5 through 8 He looks at God's attributes and asks, "Who is like the Lord?" in verses 9 through 14 He looks at God's works and speaks about "God ruling over the sea, crushing Rahab with His power(strong arm) which represented Egypt which scholars believe it probably was another name of a powerful demonic force thought to be behind that nation. He talks about God creating the heavens and the earth, and working with strength ( His arm...hand, and right hand; and righteousness, and how the mountains...Mt Tabor and Mt Hermon were personified as if they themselves rejoiced in the Lord's creative power.But when He comes to verses 15 through 18 He tells us about the Blessings of those who trust and Fellowship with this marvelous God in whom He is talking about. Some of the benefits of this Fellowship are: Righteousness,Strength,Protection and not only that but in verse 24 He speaks about "Being favored and blessed" with strength.

I don't know who i'm preaching to this morning but God has given you a way to rejoice out of your circumstances. You need to stop saying that I am the Victim and start saying I am the Victor. You have a right this morning to Rejoice because the Bible tells us to rejoice in the Lord always and then it reiterates again and say's "and again i say rejoice." I know that Joy is not common to some folks but those of us who are saved and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. It is a choice. Despite all of the vicissitudes in life despite the changes you go through, despite the shifts in your season, despite your changes of fortune, despite life's ups and downs God has given you the power to withstand life's opposition and say no matter what goes on in my life I'm still going to rejoice.

Look at your neighbor and tell them, "I have heard the joyful sound."

Somebody sitting right next to you may be saying, " Oh Lord he we go again....they are fixing to start getting emotional....it don't take all of that." But I beg to differ because...."When I think about Jesus and all that he's done for me????? Oh you know the rest!!!!

We must understand the difference between emotion and emotionalism. Emotion is when the Green Bay Packers make a big play on the field, and everybody gets up in excitement about what the players did. Emotionalism is when you get excited and jump up and there's nothing happening on the field and usually we tell people like that to "sit yourself down". We have a lot of emotionalism today where folks are getting excited about nothing. What we really need in the church today, is somebody to get excited about what God is doing in there lives and just go to rejoicing because they have heard the joyful sound.When you have heard the joyful sound you don't need and Hammond B3 to move you or the pounding of a Slingerland drum set to get you to dance....all you need to know is that because "God Did It" that because "God Is" that because " God Can" it legitimizes your emotion or praise....i.e. You have got a real reason to praise God don't ever let anybody tell you otherwise because God is something to get excited about.
