Summary: Just a few reasons we can be amazed by Jesus Christ

”and I'm still at a loss why he'd take the cross instead of a street of pure gold”

”He's the only King who gave everything in exchange for a cold dark grave”

”and I still love to ponder this God given wonder, oh yes I'm still amazed”

Everything about Jesus Christ is AMAZING:

- He was born of a virgin

- Lived a sinless life

- Taught with authority

- Healed the sick

- Cleansed the lepers

- Made the blind to see

- Caused the deaf to hear

- Caused the dumb to speak

- Made the lame walk

- Cast out demons

- Raised people from the dead

- Laid down His life

- Paid the ultimate sacrifice

- Rose from the grave

- Ascended to Heaven

- Sat down at the right hand of the Father

- He has provided atonement for our sins

- He is making intercession on our behalf

- He has forgiven our sins

- Saved our souls from Hell

- Changed our lives

- Provided eternal life

- He has gone to prepare a place

- He promised to come again to receive us

He has defeated :

- Sin

- Satan

- Death

- Hell

- The Grave

- Soon He will split the Eastern sky

- With a shout

- the voice of an Archangel

- and the sound of a trumpet

- He will call His children home!

- We will rise up out of this world of sorrow

- We will meet Him in the air

- AND SO SHALL WE EVER BE WITH HIM!

That’s just a few of the reasons why I’m AMAZED BY GOD’S SON!

If you are here and you have never met Jesus, I hope you understand that He came and made a way for you to experience God’s love, mercy, grace and salvation. Stop basing eternity on what you can do because it will never be enough. Put your faith, hope and trust in Jesus and what He has already done!

But for those who have been saved, are you STILL AMAZED by JESUS? Unfortunately when you look at the condition of the Church (universal & local) it seems that many “professing Christians” have simply “gotten over it”. When you look at their lives, when you examine their actions and priorities it seems that the thrill is gone in their lives. I believe of you are still amazed by Jesus it will be apparent in your life.

1. You will follow what He said when He proclaimed “If you love me, keep my commandments”

2. You will “love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength”

3. You will “love your neighbour as yourself”

4. You will “not forsake the assembling of yourselves together” (YOU WILL SHOW UP AT CHURCH REGULARLY!!!!)

5. You will give to the Lord:

a) Give Him your time

b) Give Him your talents

c) Give Him your treasures

6. You will take time a talk to Him (through prayer)

7. You will allow Him to speak to you (through study of His Word)

I ask you to examine your life? Do these actions and attributes describe you? Are you still amazed by Jesus? When you look at all He has done for you, shouldn’t that make you want to live for him? I know that this ol boy falls short each and every day, but when it come to my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ… I’M STILL AMAZED!

It is late Saturday afternoon... By Thursday evening I normally have my outline completed and am eager to hear from the Lord the final details of the coming sermon... But not this week... As late as 5:30 p.m. God has been silent on what He wants me to speak on... then came the message to read your sermon... Since I am one that has a reputation as one being difficult to impress, the title of your sermon jumped out at me... Or maybe I should say the Lord pointed it out... I want to let you know that what you have just written, is what I have been wanting to say for quite some time... I just didn't know exactly how to express those feelings.. Now I do... I plan to use about half of what you have said in this week's sermon along with some of my own experiences... Who knows... Maybe I will use it as part of a thanksgiving series... Thank you so much! This sermon has been a great encouragement for me!

Thank you for your encouraging words. This is exactly why I post on Sermon Central. I have been where you are many times (especially when I was a Bi-vocational pastor). I am honored that you would even consider any part of this sermon worthy of using. I had the thought for this sermon for a couple of weeks before I finally preached it last Sunday. The text is one of those great examples of what Jesus has done for us! I am praying that God will use you in a mighty way tomorrow. I have been fighting discouragment all day and as I am sitting here preparing for tomorrow your kind words have been a tremendous encourament to me. God bless!

Thanks Bro. Dan. This is perhaps the most special sermon I have ever prepared. It came as a result of a time of difficulty and uncertianty in my life. A time when all that I could do was "Stand Still". With that being said, the Father showed me, just as the scriptures prove that GOD IS FAITHFUL! Thanks so much for your words of encouragement!
