How To Worship

Review from last week

The Seriousness of Worship is that He is looking for worshippers, and the enemy wants to alter your worship

He will withhold rain without Worship Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

He wants correct worship, we have to worship according to the pattern that He set up

When we understand we are worth the sacrifice God made for us we are motivated to worship Him

Let me add a few things about worship that I haven’t covered yet

Abraham was there in the first mention of the Word worship, but let me show you what was in him and why He was also someone so blessed and favored by God

Abraham was an altar builder- He used to worship the moon just like all those in his upbringing in the land of Ur. But when He got a Word from the Lord and was heading towards his destiny in the land of Canaan he continual built altars.

At many pivitol points in his walk towards what God had for him in his journey he built altars.

If you are walking towards your destiny you need to be an altar builder.

Gen 12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

Gen 12:8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.

Gen 13:14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

Gen 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

Gen 13:16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

Gen 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

Gen 13:18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

You have to be able to build altars and sacrifice/worship in key transitions of your life

Now that we have built a solid foundation concerning the seriousness of worship, the what of worship. I think today is fitting that so give scripture on HOW TO WORSHIP. Because if we can move in to the HOW to do it then we will see the results of it. THIS IS GOING TO BE AN EXTRA PARTICIPATORY MESSAGE!

2Ch 5:12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) 2Ch 5:13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 2Ch 5:14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

2Ch 7:1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2Ch 7:2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house. 2Ch 7:3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

If we want that type of demonstration we need

1. Raised Hands-Psa 141:1 A Psalm of David. LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
